Good morning Andrea, yes, these fights amazed me and shocked me slightly too. It is amazing to see them locking antlers and actually throwing each other about on those stones, with the stones flying dangerously around the hillside and endangering any Deer close by. They are so unpredictable when they fight and I was super pleased to capture these scenes. thank you as always for watching fully and leaving such wonderful comments, my dear friend. Hi Dave and Sue... It was great to capture a couple of 'different sort of fights' than I've seen before. The 'broken-neck-like' moment and the turn around, as you mentioned and also I loved the rocks and stones flying everywhere, as they fought right across the scree. It's no wonder they get injured! Hi Manu, indeed they are just incredible to watch and I spent 5 days there this season arriving early morning when it is still dark until early evening... getting dark. An hour or so before and after dark is when they are most active... it can be annoying when they all decide to just sit down for several hours. Hi Beyonce, I hope you are well my friend. Yes, you are right there, they do fight for their wants. They do need all that open space too. If the males could get just one female each at this time of the season, they would be happy, because one is better than none and the season is almost over for another year. Then there is enough room to wander off and each Deer find their own small territory to wait for the right time to mate. Thank you for your continued support and really nice comments. Yes, they certainly do go for it! I was filming Fallow Deer last weekend and will be going one last time tomorrow, just in case they are still at it. It was the first time I had seen them mating too! I know the fallow you see will more than likely have more impressive antlers, if the Red's are anything to go by. thank you for your kind comment, my Deer friend. 👍◕‿◕

*You always leave really good comments... thank you.* I know what you mean about animals in combat. For me, I'm more sort of 'upset' when I see something like a Gorilla or Rhino fight, as they are endangered and will probably both be extinct in the wild in the next 50 years. But as you say, rare or common, big or small, territorial or for mating rights... animals will fight and some will die of their injuries. I suppose it softens the blow, (for those fatally wounded) knowing that other species will have an easy meal. Survival indeed. I like the full build up to a fight too, although many folks just love to see the fight and then move on to the next video... so this one's ideal for those guys. It would be nice if most posters said which they prefer too... just out of interest. Thanks again my good friend. 👍◕‿◕

Hello again Lydia, yes, nature can seem very cruel at times, just as real life can too. We all have good and happy times, but then also bad, maybe even cruel and sad times. But more so in nature and various Animal Kingdoms, that's how it is. It is all natural to most species and one day most will have a turn at being the dominant one in a group.
