Red Fire is a launched Intamin Blitz rocket roller coaster which has operated at ViaSea amusement park in Turkey since 2015. I was incredibly lucky to experience a double rollback...where the train failed to make it over the top hat hill and rolled back to the station...twice...and with me in the front seat capturing POV. It's the first time I have ever had a rollback, but to get two of them back-to-back is incredibly rare. Check out the video filmed in Turkey as part of the European Coaster Club tour 2018.

I have other video footage from Turkey that will genuinely shock most enthusiasts in terms of laid back H&S - including POV of me riding a Ferris wheel that wasn't even finished - I was riding in a test gondola with no doors on it!

It's actually really awesome that you managed to record something unusual like that on camera! Not a rollback (which is rare enough)... but a double rollback with a train full of enthusiasts!! What are the chances? Gotta love the cheerful celebration on that one :D

That is very cool, I have yet to experience a rollback of some sort, not to mention a DOUBLE rollback. I doubt whether rollbacks like this happen on its clone iSpeed, which is 10 km/h faster than this one

I am not sure why RCDB lists iSpeed as being faster...if you look at this ride on RCDB it says it reaches 68.3mph in 2.5 seconds during launch (the fastest part of the ride) yet iSpeed only reaches 62.1mph in its launch, and manages an extra 12mph above its launch speed at some other point of the ride - given the layout is almost identical that doesn't make sense to me.

davidjellis hmmm yeah that's interesting indeed. I thought that they just meant the acceleration in seconds to 100 km/h because that's standard but Red Fire has it listed in seconds per 110 km/h so that doesn't add up.

I just watched videos of the two coasters and checked the timings and the time taken from launch to brake run was almost identical for both rides (approx. 53 seconds)...I think the stats are wrong, the two rides are the same speed.

davidjellis that's great to hear! That basically confirms that Red Fire is better than iSpeed since lap bars are better than OTSR's (never heard anyone who prefers iSpeed's restraints)

I'd like to have your opinion : If I'm right, you've been on both iSpeed and this clone. I've been on iSpeed for the first time this summer with a friend, (without a Rollback, unfortunately!) it was an amazing kick-ass ride but we both agreed that the restraints ruined the whole ride experience. See that Red Fire has lap-bars, in your opinion, does it make the ride better than iSpeed? I'm pretty sure the answer is Yes..

You would be correct - the restraints on Red Fire are far superior :-) Apart from that both rides are pretty much the same.

It might be quite a different experience, be able to ride it as many times as you want without hurting the shoulders! We rode it 16 times the same day, my shoulders hurt for the whole trip back to Bologna. It's a shame, with better restraints it could have been my Number 1, but well looks like Expedition GeForce will stay at the top for a couple more years (it's been sitting at the no.1 spot for 5 years already) It may be a small thing in a ride but restraints are quite important on the whole ride experience. I still don't understand how Intamin managed to design such an amazing layout but completely fail the restraints

I agree - ride restraints can make a huge difference to ride experience - which is part of the reason Top Thrill Dragster is far superior to Kingda Ka despite being slightly shorter an slower...lap bar only beats OTSRs every time.

Thry should make a ride like dragster but it has two hills one on each side. Launches up the first then at the bottom of the first hill it launches up the second.

Question for anyone who has ridden this ride. This looks just as fast as an acceleration as intamins hydraulic launch system. Is it? Or pretty close? If so that’s great they have finally figured out how to really pump the juice through the stators, parks will love that verses the maintenance costs of a hydraulic launch system.

Great and unique to have a double rollback on POV camera! However, why are there people next to a launching coach @ 1:48? Making a selfie seems to be an excuse for ditching major safety procedures these days. One slip or a small step back too far, and those LIM's will grind you up like a log-shredder I guess. Would hate to have that happening on my shift.

That's only because I was using the same camera to film the POV and the reverse reactions on the brakerun...everyone had already cheered at the rollbacks...but when they saw me pointing the camera at them in the brakerun they cheered again :-)

Rollbacks on coaster with a launch into a top hat happens all the time. Even wind can be a factor. It isn’t uncommon. I do like how people off the coaster are allowed to just stand next to it with no safety protocols in place whatsoever. 🤣

The people on the platform were staff and it was a private riding session with no general public around - all pretty safe. For me it was my first (and second) rollback - but although as you say they happen quite frequently, I bet not many of them are filmed with permission from the front seat on back to back rollbacks.

@@davidjellis Watch again when the coaster launches for the 3rd time. Two people are standing on the left IN the launch area, one of them has their back turned taking a selfie with the coaster. Private event or during regular public hours, you won’t find this in the U.S.

@@Shag471 That is true - but they were a good distance from the track - I think this was the first time they had hosted a coaster club so they were probably a little distracted from the normal safety rules they would apply in park opening hours. To be honest it was nice not having the US health and safety rules in operation - obviously H&S is vitally important in any theme park, but the US park policies often take most of the fun out of it. If this got you nervous, you would have a fit if you visited a Scandinavian park or German Fair !!

Intamin have made 10 versions of the Blitz coaster...8 are custom designs and this one and iSpeed are identical models...it's not really a copy in the way you had suggested, no more than the 56 boomerang coasters operating in the world are copies of the first one...they are simply standard designs.
