Great guide! As a newer player to rdm, I didn't realize the function of Enchanted Moulinet and how it fits into the AOE rotation. Most guides ignore explaining AOE rotations and focus solely on single target

I just loved the RDM job. It's like a counterpart to the SUM. Whenever I get bored playing SUM, I just switched over to RDM to be revitalized.

Great video for my favorite dps class, everyone says red mage is easy, but it has so many tools and a percise way to execute its rotation that is so tight in its design, so satisfying to play.

I needed a guide like this. I have to level Kess in Red Mage with everyone else to experience the story and I don't like Red Mage because it is so complicated. This guide redeems it. :) Also, nice trick there using the Garlemald storyline in Endwalker and playing Metal Gear Solid music over it.

Even if it's not that big i like to use Vercure during down phase to have my dual cast when the boss is available. (Same apply in PF when there's no timer on the beginning of fight)

Missed this when it came out because I was so obsessed with SMN at EW launch. But now the bloom is off that rose and I'm thinking of going back to RDM again. I played it in SB, particularly in Eureka (I appreciate your Anemos glam -- I'm still rocking mine as well) and the EW differences initially confused me so I appreciate your video. Also, let me say that I like your long intros -- I play the jobs as much for the flavour as I do for the gameplay so I really like seeing Desperius in all her outfits and the themes that go with those roles.

One thing about manafication, you don't want to hold it until the 2:00 mark to line up with your embolden. If you know how long the fight will take and know that it isn't going to lose you a use, then you can hold it, but in unknown situations, losing 10 seconds per 2 minutes makes it very possible to lose a use (and therefore an entire combo) overall. You can still attempt to have your combo up for raid buffs in addition to using manafication on cooldown.

Disclaimer, I am completely new sprout to FF14 and MMO games in general. If you read the following it could be painful if you are a more experienced player than me. I was recommended to try out red mage at level 50, and most people told me it was easy. So I feel really, really dumb and kind of depressed since I keep tripping over myself trying to learn it. While I guess to others the class uses a lot of simple mechanics, for me it is a lot of simple mechanics all at once that I am not familiar with and because of this it feels overwhelming and I don't know where to build up from. I started with Arcanist/ Summoner, which even I found easy enough to understand and I felt like I built up to be able to use all of my spells quite quickly. With Red Mage, having literally just picked it up after finishing ARR, I kinda just freeze up from trying to manage multiple mechanics I am new to all at once. Alot of the time it is being unsure of what my rotation is at low level, I have not been able to find one which is not built around the old version of Acceleration, I have found that whenever I use this skill I just end up long casting something by accident/ accidently using the dual cast proc on a shortcast spell. Would any Red Mage experts be able to give me some advice on how to stop being so overwhelmed, what to focus on at first or suggest a lvl50 rotation with the updated Acceleration in mind?

I am no rdm expert but i do play it a lot so i say just follow 4:50 i don't really use rotations 80 below because i just play it how it's supposed to be. Short cast > dual cast the long cast and ogcds in between. As for Acceleration, for low levels i guess use it to get procs (the short casts or for movement. Never hardcast long cast time if u dont have proc just go back to jolt.

What is the best/fastest way to rebalance your mana gauge if you mess up bad? I was panicking first time I dungeoned on my store-bought RM and was trying to rez. By the time i realized I was at 30/100 with no clue how to resolve it. I tried just casting the lower mana over and over with jolt for dual. That got me nowhere. lol

I remember wanting a red mage added from FF5 forever. Then they added it in Stormblood… my favorite expansion. Then shadowbringers they did literally nothing to the RDM and the Endwalker has done the bare minimum with changes. Enough for my to try them again. I’m glad they finally made holy and flare aoe. It never made sense that they weren’t. I still don’t understand why we haven’t been given the move Ultima… instead we got some rose attack that makes no sense besides that we have a rapier so they thought of a rose. Holy + Flare = Ultima. Why don’t we have it….. I don’t understand.

You have to start with another job and reach level 50, as well as buying the Stormblood expansion through the Complete Version of the Game or the "base game"
