Well, first - it is ot RED Sonja anymore, it is Purple Sonly or Blue Sonja, by the color of her Hair. Also, she is a martial artist that weights 250kg, an indigenous trans person of color. Oh, and she is actually Karen, not Sonja. She likely also fights patriarchy by working a minimum wage job in some retail outlet. Still on track with the lore, right? Just a little interpretation to modern woke times.

(Star Wars, Star Trek, Doctor Who, Saints Row, anything Marvel or DC, anything else Disney, Mass Effect, Dragon Age, Assassins's Creed, CD Projekt has fallen and they are only starting with this, beware the TW remake and TW4 in the future, heck even remakes of Japanese games have wokisms in them.) We have no precedent for "will be thrown into a pile and burnt." There is, however, increasing backlash. So, as I said, one can hope.

Surprisingly, DC seems to be going strong where Marvel is just a complete mess right now (Not that surprising since it's under Disney, the most woke company ever)

@@UltimateTobi Never judge DC by their live action movies, my friend. If you look at anything Marvel, it's always woke, whether it's a comic, animated series, or MCU. DC has two great animated movie universes that are superior to the MCU, they're just stupid and trying to copy the MCU for their live action films instead of doing what they're doing in their animation department In short, look up the DCAMU (2010s series, got concluded) and the Tomorrowverse (2020s series, still going strong)

No, it's 'literally' referring to a socio-cultural, aesthetic, philosophical concept developed in the second half of the twentieth century. There are books about It, artworks in response to it. It makes no prescriptions about how men or women should look or see or who they should find attractive. It doesn't even assume the one who gazes is a man. It's an exploration of the use of art in historical progress and the production of social narratives.

Anything that is appealing to the man? MG. It's absolutely about what 'men should find attractive' as they use the term as a form of slander and vehicle to insult them over wanting it or finding the things they like appealing. It's a social tool to demoralize and slander men for liking what they like and to try to cancel media that still caters to said half of the population. Which is also why they completely hypocritical about it, when men are painted in similar ways or when unattractive chicks are in similar get ups by they find it the look PC because of who it's on. They give clear reasons in the comics why Red Sonja is scantily clothed: She does it to gain an advantage in combat (against men) and to be able to be fast. I would not be surprised if the film makers have no idea. They often think a lack of knowledge of the lore is a virtue not a vice (which does not make sense to me unless you want to get bonus points for being uneducated and lazy).

I believe the director who is a Trans female who took over for a Trans male said they want to remove all the identity politics from the movie so i have a bit of hope. They did and left her for dead, and she prayed for the power to get revenge, so a war goddess gave her the power and skill but cursed her to never lay with a man who can't beat her in a fair fight. And thats red Sonja's backstory.

Honestly they need to stop taking genres that are mostly dominanted by men and try to make them for women, looking back at a lot of movies that had "strong female characters" or all female cast in genres normally aimed at men they always fail at the box office or barley break even, in recent years Barbie is the only female led movie to succeed, but that wasn't trying to take a male genre and it came with a built-in fan base that's been building up for decades.

Red Sonja is another character who never actually appeared in the original works, but fit so well she was accepted as a part of the over-arching world. This movie is going to end up more like Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.

Have you seen what constitutes a tomboy these days? When I was a kid, it just meant a girl who wore non-girly clothes, liked sports or other traditionally male hobbies, and wasn't afraid to get dirty outside. They could and often did have long-ish hair, and were still obviously feminine; the only differentiation was in dress and mannerism. Nowadays it just seems to mean "looking like Ruby Rose."

One of the important things about Sonja’s SA is that it was carried out ON THE ORDERS OF A WOMAN. From the beginning of the original film, they make it clear that the problem is not men; it’s evildoers, male and female. That’s one of the lessons that becomes part of her character growth.

Yes, that is her blessing but at the same time a curse. She is independent and invincible, but also forever lonely because if she loves a man who has not defeated her in a fair fight, she will lose all her warrior powers. That is why she is a tragic, very complex character. Unfortunately, the authors of the film ignore all this, not understanding what kind of dramatic potential it has.

Shad Bayonetta was one of the most criticized games back in the day especially by Anita with Feminist Frequency. It was only recently that the usual critics were silent and that was because they thought she was gay(she wasn’t, she has a lover and kid) and as such it was considered safe horny(not for the male gaze)

It's for ESG investors, who apparently don't mind losing all their money. The producers of the woke content are making big bags of money, and they aren't being held accountable for producing a quality product. It's a direct transfer of funds from investor to producer that doesn't really need a released film or an audience. As with, say, the Batgirl film. It's like buying one of Hunter Biden's paintings, except you are getting zero return on your investment from Joe, and you're doing it to destroy the art market by spending wads on garbage.

In the action figure world there was a RS figure released sometime last year by Loose Collector. There’s another one coming out in the future by Boss Fight Studios. They both cater to the male gaze. The Loose Collector version is part of a larger line that is made up of female comic characters that are all about the gaze including one that can be converted to a topless version (bec she appears that way at times). That line would give these anti-gaze types a heart attack or cause them to stroke out.

As a member of the "Ginger" community, I'm tired of the race swapping and in particular the swapping of red-headed characters, red-heads are being completely removed from all forms of media and it needs to be stopped, many of these characters are core to their stories and are just not the same otherwise!

I see a clear tendency with most of my female friends. No just that that the absolute majority dresses their characters way more revealing than most guys(so do i ;) ), but also the more shy they are in real life the more revealing they make their characters in games. They adore underwear-like armor, underboob and all kind of very revealing side cuts. Also I see a similar effect on the girls like on guys wanting to work out when they see a muscular character. Often I saw very shy girls with low confidence in their looks express themself first through their revealing characters and then dared to try less baggy clothes. And no, none of them suddenly became "cheap". The girls who dress "too revealing" in real life are usually not the one's enjoying games. Well, I don't know how representative my experience is, but I kept noticing it through my life. Also on myself I think.🤔
