I've literally built several of these in my world based on other tutorials and never, not once, did I ever understand how and why they worked. In some ways, these machines that I'd collected resources for, created space for, and built with my own time and energy, didn't even really feel like they were part of my world as a result of my not having a grasp of what they were actually doing. Thank you for your clear, efficient, and straightforward explanations! I can now, finally, take some ownership of these contraptions and perhaps even modify them to my own ends.

I felt very much the same. I still do about double piston extenders. Felt like magic until I was able to figure out what was actually happening.

Very helpful video! I've mentioned you in my recent video (episode 2), cause I was trying to build one of ilmango's farms, and he had a very complicated minecart unloader (which was WAY too expensive to build, lol). Did a quick search, and you had the simplest design I've seen, so I decided to link to here. (I'm not a very large channel, but hopefully the mention will help a bit!) 😃

Thank you for explaining the hopper being sideways and not straight down on the unloading one. COULD NOT figure out why mine wouldn't work no matter what I did...

Nice video, thanks for that! :D Do you have a video about the minecard loader, when the chest/hopper on top is full AND the minecard underneath is full aswell? Since you said there is an advanced methode for this one too, I am curious how to do it. I have some farms that produce way more than the minecard can hold, so the whole system is "stuck".

It was really helpful, but i have a question. What if i'll load the chest untill full. My hopper will full after it loaded all items in the chest and the mineshaft won't go. Is it possible to fix that?

I did the same everything but the minecart doesn't stop much time on hopper and its drops drops only 1item and moves quickly it doesn't stop what should i do ? For (unloader)

I’m going to make a guess that your hopper points down? The hopper needs to go sideways or else the items flow too quickly for the comparator to register and it won’t stop the minecart.

I can’t seem to figure out how to place a powered rail on top of the hopper? Only lets me put it in the hopper

Hmmm. Try shift clicking. That might be the trick.

Does cart speed or track length affect the unloading system? My cart bounces off the powered rail before it turns off in time.

It shouldn’t impact things, but they can be finicky. Sometimes trying a second powered rail or even adjusting hopper line placement can affect timing. Which design are you having trouble with?

The cart is still bouncing back even with items in it, the comparator turn the rail off but the cart still bounce back

Hmmm. I often see this if the hopper isn’t faced sideways. If the hopper is facing straight down it drains too fast for the comparator to register. Hope that helps!

I don’t think it would matter if the chunks are loaded. The loader should still work.

Ok, so for some reason I'm thinking it may be related to the east west rule with minecart physics. The reason I say that is i recently made another world and tried it again, and now I can't get it to not work lol. I have not verified the east west rule in my test world yet. 🤷‍♂️

Very interesting. I know rails do have some weird behaviors, but not sure why it would interact with red stone?

@@Todd13 I agree. I find it fishy as can be. That's why I'm not sure if that's what's causing the issue or not. The biggest issue seems to be cart speed control when coming up to the unloading point. If I push the cart myself from a couple rails back. It works perfectly. If I use powered rails up the line..sometimes it comes in to fast. Others to slow. The trick seems be be finding just the right speed so the comparator actually shuts the rail off in time.

Never mind still doesnt work on xbox. Unsure what patch I'm on currently. Comparator doesnt recieve any signal at all no matter what direction the hopper faces. 🤷‍♂️....

@@Todd13 managed to get the comparator to receive signal, but cant seem to slow it down enough to shut off the powered rail in time to stop the cart. I use chest carts btw as they come from my mine. Maybe I'd be better off using the powered rail in a de-energized state to stop it and then a signal once the cart is empty to send it back?

@@Todd13 yea I did bozo you wanna catch a nuke or what? I had to to a little adjustment with the unloader but the loading one its not sending the cart back when its full it just sits and no red stone is activated

Hmmm, that’s unusual. Are you on the Bedrock edition? I know this works in Java, but Bedrock treats red stone differently in some cases. Also, make sure there’s no items in the hopper. If the minecart gets full and there’s no where for the items to go, it will never take off. Minecarts can only hold so many items and if the hopper gets backed up it’ll never send the cart out. I hope this helps.

@@Todd13 to be honest I 50/50 understood this, I may have to watch the video a few more times, I’m on the Xbox one so whatever version is currently on that, right now my loading system is a hopper line which then ends at a hopper pointing down, under that hopper pointing down would be the mine cart that items load into. I’ve tried both a chest and hopper Minecraft but when full it won’t take off, would it be because of the continuous input of items I’m having in that hopper line?

@@Vladimir-Putin- I think you figured it out. The comparator needs to see that the hopper is empty to shoot the minecart off. The hopper line prevents this from happening. There are loaders that do work with hopper lines, but this tutorial is just a simple loader. I’ll see if I can find one that’ll work for you and make a video in the next couple weeks.

@@Todd13 take a look at skip the tutorial..guy just gets millions of views just cuz he has a nice thumbnail..the content is definitely the same as you. Just look at the top performing videos of your niche and steal their thumbnails. Their thumbnails are pretty self explanatory and clean. Take a look and you'll understand
