Really surprised. I'm always told alcohol just get turned into sugar. So thought it would be higher.😮

You should consider that dry wines have little sugar and would not spike your blood sugar at all, but if you drink a sweet wine or fortified wine (sugar added) you'll probably see a difference in your blood sugar.

I found that a Cabernet Sauvignon from Australia decreases my glucose levels. I found a brand from a local winery in Florida increases my glucose; this tells me they did not ferment it long enough or added sugar after brewing. Sticking with the brand that loses my glucose.

When you drink alcohol, your liver needs to break down the alcohol. While your liver is processing alcohol, it stops releasing glucose. As a result, your blood sugar level can drop quickly, putting you at risk for low blood sugar
@janbuetikofer33363 ай бұрын
That's a really surprise me thank you
@raminsarshad3 ай бұрын
I think the reason is the low carb content and all the alcohol go directly to fat conversion in the liver.
