Hinckley Nuclear Power Station. Active side is EDF and the site we see first is under construction. I speak to Police in depth about drone laws and it becomes very interesting. Nuclear Police stop me twice along with G4S.

Support you 100% mate, love what you do but the old saying goes 'time and place' and 'live to fight another battle'. When the security guard was going out of his way to be polite and highlight the point about restrictions and the police say the same and also say we are not going to do anything about it, I think best to just say thanks and draw the zipper across the mouth. It's a nuclear site at the end of the day not a police station or migrant hotel. I do a lot of photography myself but also being a 15 year Army veteran who worked a lot to protect vital assets etc, I wouldn't film the site at all out of principle given how critical it is.

AIRSPACE : Restricted Area EGR153 HINKLEY POINT. Section 239 ANO gives the Secretary of State the power to restrict flying in areas deemed not safe in the public interest, for example..... (a)the intended gathering or movement of a large number of persons; (b)the intended holding of an aircraft race or contest or of a flying display; or (c)national defence or any other reason affecting the public interest. The legislation and areas restricted are already in place which is why there are FRZs etc. There is also a list of all drone encounters flying over nuclear sites and this one will now be on that list as "pilot spoken to, words of advice given to pilot" You're lucky they didn't seize your drone and prosecute you using the GPS of where your drone had flown.

They are definitely restrictions at my local National Grid place at Barnby Dun Nr Doncaster and not just Nuclear power stations. No idea why because theres nothing in there of any likelihood of being damaged by a 249 gr drone. Drones do fly up to the boundary but the drone itself will not fly any further into the place automatically .No one needs to worry about drones at all at any of these red zone areas
@BoronAlloy4 ай бұрын
@@nathanwilson3737 I was referring to this specific video’s drone pilot, in that the Police had already figured out who he was from his car reg, which he effectively told them that it was his. Sounds like you have the regulation back to front.All nuclear facilities have a prohibited area with a lat and long point with a distance from that point and a height above ground level where no aircraft including unmanned aircraft can enter.There are exceptions for helicopters taking off or landing from and within the area with the permission of the owners or person incharge of the site ie they may have a VIP visitor.

Im sorry to say, that your understanding of Drone assist is not quite correct. It uses data formed from notams info pushed by altitude angel. This flight is in an official restricted area: EGR153 HINKLEY POINT and therefore illegal. You mention central London and flights there, again this isn't correct, there is a helicopter zone over the top but there is also a drone-restricted zone (in fact 3) 157,258 and 159 below this. Please check before flying. Thanks

The Restricted Zone is restricted ONLY to the activities permitted in the "Remarks". Therefore unless you are in a helicopter (with relevant permissions) flight is not permitted. Notes also say "Unless regulations in your region explicitly permit the operation of your drone in this area, we recommend you do not operate your drone here.". I cannot see how your flight could have been perceived as OK.

The policeman was rabbiting on about this drone rule and that drone rule. DJ already knows all of this. My point is, just because someone is flying a drone does not mean they know nothing about flying a drone! There seems to be no real justification or need for checking every aspect. It's like checking whether a car driver knows how a steering wheel works. If you insist, at least have some reasonable grounds for doing so.

Every force has different policies for example the met use a yellow asterix/star but as CNC is a routinely armed force like MDP they probably won't mark the vehicles as armed police as the force crest does that straight away so it is a waste of time, it's the same with MDP, they actually only mark non-armed vehicles, usually used for their version of a PCSO

You seriously need to do your homework on drone/rules/laws mate. You're going to be one of these youtubers that rise then have a massive fall. This area is restricted area and your flight were completely illegal in fact,most of your flights are illegal to be honest whether its VLOS restricted zones or flying to low (yes I said flying too low) private property in deed do own the immediate airspace in their boundary (usually to the height of their building) I don't comment to be a prat for the sake of it but I want to make sure the rules are followed for two reasons 1) is so that you don't find your self in hot water 2) as a drone operator myself I don't want people ruining the hobby that I love. The more rules get broken then the more restrictions I will have imposed on me. The rules were a little more relaxed before this auditing craze but since then they added little extra restrictions like VLOS . VLOS were a numerical number, 500m to be precise but then they said you have to be able to see it and after that ,they added that you must see it and be able to know it's orientation

Your almost correct mate, it's prohibited and you can use self defense (e.g. takedown, choke & punching within reason) but only if the drone flyer is doing it for commercial reasons (KZfaq DOES count as commercial reasons) so for example most of these auditors put themselves at risk with these videos.
