Loved seeing Matt slowly realize how actually fun this game was. It was no Red Dead Redemption mind you, but I've got good memories of running this inbetween San Andreas sessions as a kid

Red Dead Revolver is one of my favorite games of all time, I used to play the HELL out of it during the PS2 era, and in my High School years I actually ended up being one of the first people (atleast publically online) to speedrun the game and figure out some fun tricks. I still remember the pure elation when I saw the first ads for Redemption because I honestly never expected that the Red Dead series would ever continue. This game has so much personality, and a lot of really good moments.

You should keep playing it. There are actually 5 playable characters in the main story and basically all named enemies can be played in the multiplayer. Very fun game indeed.

I have an apt analogy for the Capcom losing Red Dead scenario. Eric Bischoff firing Stunning Steve Austin. Without events happening the way they did, the results would not have been the same. If Steve had stayed in WCW, we would've never seen Stone Cold and his career would never have reached the same heights and almost single-handedly usher in the hottest period in pro wrestling history. Bischoff doesn't regret firing him for this reason. Same goes for Red Dead, I'm sure Capcom aren't bothered by it either

The load screen cinematic style was a hallmark of low budget spaghetti westerns made to capitalize on the Leone-Eastwood films. The plot takes cues from cult classics like Death Rides A Horse and Silver Saddle. The soundtrack to this game reads like a list of some of the underrated films of the subgenre.

When the dog pees on the bandit's boots and he shoots it dead, I laughed so hard when I originally saw that cutscene and still do to this day.

Gun 2 definitely needs to be on What Happun? Neversoft was on the cusps of making their own Red Dead Redemption but Activision gotta Activision even when the first one sold very well.

I'm more of a Spaghetti Western fan than I am "traditional" Westerns, so this game hit me right in the feels when it came out, and it was an absolute enjoyed first-release purchase. Plus, I also appreciate that this game kind of operates the same way as "The Warriors", in that it gives you options for extra tasks, but it doesn't feel overwhelmingly "open world".

My grandfather beat this game on every single difficulty level and on Red Wood Revolver. My fond memories of this game are watching him play.

Pig Josh is unironically one of the best boss fights in any game ever, I'd love to see Matt's reaction to it and he only needs to start the next mission to see it.

Love the heavily compressed gun shot sounds. They sound like they're coming from an old cell phone. "Gun shots for menu sounds? What is this? Shadow the Hedgehog?" I had a Mandela Effect moment for a long time cuz I thought Capcom's logo was on the box ... might've confused that for Rockstar's logo? Man, this game looks like a lot of fun, I might think about giving it a try sometime.

Know why this game doesn’t get more love? No realistic horse testicle physics.

This is one of those games where it's short enough that I would just beat it over and over again whenever the mood struck me. My friends and I would even play Showdown here and there, even though anyone that had Deadeye were way OP.

I played this game so many years ago and i really enjoyed it. One thing i found interesting about this game is how it goes for a more wacky vibe amidst all the seriousness from time to time, like one of the bosses having a coffin with a mounted gatling gun or the guy with the dynamites strapped all over him. And Mr. Kelley? Oh boy... He's definitely something.

I will always remember Pig Josh and that one guy that does straight up magic when fighting against Red

i have put more time into this game than any other game in my life. Me and my brothers would play this for hours and hours. we would constantly have to 100% because our disc was scratched so it was between us to take turns to do so. But this game is such a sleeper of a game. its not the best but holy crap it has heart and character. one of my favorite games of all time

This was an absolute joy to play when it released and countless hours were spent in multiplayer with friends having nothing but shootouts. I was super salty when this never received a proper sequel, but having both Redemption games reference it gave such a warm, fuzzy feeling for all the wonderful moments shared in Revolver.

Ohh I remember playing this one on PS4 after completing RDR2 and I was just…like it was really fun still, of course, but going from a game where the idealistic outlaws have to deal with civilization catching up with them and threatening their way of life and then going to a game where you fight someone wielding a casket Gatling gun who looks like a skeleton…it was something lemme say.

This was one of my favorite games from back in the day. A mainstay on my PS2, played to completion at least once a week for at least a year.

Another one of Matt's videos where I'm thinking "Oh no, he quit right before he got to the BLANK!" (in this case BLANK refers to the level where you're fighting evil circus midgets - man this game was wild compared to the sequels!)

I played this game at least 15 times as a kid on the Xbox, loved the hell out of this game. Actually preferred Red Dead Revolver over Gun. Showdowns were a pain the first time around, but once you get down the movements. This game has so many memorable characters. From Mr. Black, the gatling gun in a coffin toting baddie. To the guy that ran around with bear claws as his main weapon.

I remember playing this as a kid. Haven't seen it since and who better to bring it back than Matt? That said, Matt...I dunno how into repeat performances you are but I highly, HIGHLY recommend you play this more. The charm and craziness only go further beyond from here. From bandit circus midgets to burly outlaws with chins as wide as dinner plates that can RIP BOULDERS OUT OF THE GROUND. It may not catch on as much as MK New Era but you gotta play till at least Bad Bessie. You and your audience won't regret it.

Interesting tidbit about 'Gun', the lead character is voiced by Thomas Jane.

You can unlock multiplayer stuff just by playing the multiplayer and I highly recommend it, it's a lot of fun. It even has bot support, up to 4 players, human or bots.

What I love about Red Dead Revolver is that apparently, according to some developers, it's not set in the same universe as Red Dead Redemption 1 and 2 (Or, as I like to call them, Red Dead Revolver 2 and 3). SO WHY DID THEY KEEP THE TITLE THEN.

This was my first ps2 game, as a child i couldn't pass the tutorial cuz I didn't know english at the time.

This is one of my favourite PS2 games. I enoyed it more than Red Dead Redemption 1, though obviously no where near as impressive I love the tight focus on what it does well. The soundtrack is great too, all classic Spaghetti Western tracks from the 60s. The multiplayer was great fun with 4 players too.

The split screen mode on this game is insanely fun. Partially due to the fact my copy is so scratched up on the back of the disc that there are these absolutely crazy glitches, like random clown laughter or one time when my character got set on fire and started slidin around on his belly

I'm a spaghetti western fan myself and when Read Dead Redemption came out I was so sad I coudn't afford a PS3. But someday someone told me that RD Redemption was actually a sequel of a PS2 game. Read Red Revolver didn't look nothing la RD Redemption, but it was so, so funny, so well done, so western. It was one of the few PS2 I really enjoyed a lot. One of my favourites of all time. Up to this day I didn't play RD Redemption yet. I don't know. I didn't play a game for a decade. And now I saw it like somewhat an open world game with stunning graphics and maybe "friendly gameplay/difficulty" , just the type of game I never liked.
