Playing For Change (PFC) is a movement created to inspire and connect the world through music, born from the shared belief that music has the power to break down boundaries and overcome distances between people. The primary focus of PFC is to record and film musicians performing in their natural environments and combine their talents and cultural power in innovative videos called Songs Around The World. Creating these videos motivated PFC to form the Playing For Change Band-a tangible, traveling representation of its mission, featuring musicians met along their journey; and establish the Playing For Change Foundation-a separate 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to building music and art schools for children around the world. Through these efforts, Playing For Change aims to create hope and inspiration for the future of our planet.

Hey, I met someone you know and have performed with while I was out the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah who is a keyboardist on several of your songs. He was hanging out outside on the street with Robbie Krieger of the Doors, when I approached him. I actually recognized him and not Robbie when I first met them. Anyway, I mentioned that maybe it would be a good idea to do a cover of the Doors song "Light My Fire" since Robbie wrote that. He and Robbie thought that would be a great idea. And I mentioned that I would love to join in if they ever do it. I have a band myself in Chicago. Anyway, if there is ever an opening on one of your gigs, I would be in for sure. I love this channel. It has seriously become my go to music channel as of late.

Growing up in Jamaica bob marley isn’t appreciated and cherished the way. He should be, jamaicas economy is predominantly tourism, why? Bcz of bob marley, I always say it one way or another he is still feeding a nation bcz they all make money from his name. I grew up only a few miles away from nine mile where he was born, with people who knew bob, knew his mother and even met his father once or twice, as those areas are all forests and mountains. There is more peace and harmony in the world than some people are aware of. It just doesn’t make the headlines. “A group of people from all over the world got along well and had fun together today” is not what you will ever hear on the news. That doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. Have faith in love my friends, it’s here now all around you. I am confident that by far most of us are peaceful and respectful and appreciative of each other. Together we’re pretty awesome. Frankly, I like our subtle differences, it makes life more interesting and fun. Bring it on. I came from a small town and when I moved to the city, life exploded for me and I loved it. Music, food, culture. More please. I’m so glad everyone isn’t exactly like me as long as they don’t want to hurt me. This whole playing For Change thing reminds me of the sixties. I was the skinny shy white guy among all my friends. It was a true melting pot. Almost everyone played a musical instrument. We were jamming at ten years old and we’re still friends fifty years later. Thank you my beautiful friends and wonderful supportive family. Man, we had a lot of fun and I feel so fortunate. I have been very sick for a long time now and just want to say thank you everybody. It was pretty tough, but worth it. You make the world a better place. Please carry on the music and love for you and your children.

Old pirates, yes, they rob I Sold I to the merchant ships Minutes after they took I From the bottomless pit But my hand was made strong By the hand of the Almighty We forward in this generation Triumphantly Won't you help to sing These songs of freedom? 'Cause all I ever have: Redemption songs Redemption songs Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery None but ourselves can free our minds Have no fear for atomic energy 'Cause none of them can stop the time How long shall they kill our prophets While we stand aside and look? Some say it's just a part of it We've got to fulfill the Book Won't you help to sing These songs of freedom? 'Cause all I ever have Redemption songs Redemption songs Redemption songs

As an older ,kind ,man I sadly have learned that along with the differences in color and culture comes the difference.... this is the reality. We of course may stand and get past these differences .... but though we are painted and shaded we stand side by side as equals..... but not the same.
