The fact that you're talking about a Dream controversy when coloring Scott's shirt green is so funny considering the similarities between their dating lives

the knives one is super muddled her original is sleek and light to be similar to a ninja because that's her fighting style the cropped hoodie and suspenders give her a strange silhouette whereas the sleek outfit and scarf give her a clear silhouette very reminiscent of classic anime and comic characters

scott’s is so real.. some times i can absolutely hate him, but i can’t he’s so likeable sometimes 😭😭

Someone already mentioned that Knive's fight outfit is ninja-esque, but I wanna add scarves on ninja is a common trope for ninja in video games and anime. Strider Hiryu in Street Fighter and Bakuryu from Bloody Roar have sleeveless tops and long scarves. And the whole outfit also gives me Tumblr emocore. I haven't read the comic, but I've watched the movie, so is Scottaholic Knives just her "turned emo"? That's the vibe I got lol. The redesigns are cute btw. I like revised version of Scott's iconic outfit the most. I'm looking forward to watching the animated show.

I feel like Knives' fighting outfit is a little too 2020 fashion leaning? It'd work for a modern interpretation of the story though! I also. do not like the dyed hair in her second outfit. The only reason she dyed her hair in the first place was to be more like Ramona so scott would like her, but her second one is supposed to be her having moved on.. and I suppose you could say "oh but she does enjoy it so she keeps dyeing it", but for me personally it feels odd to keep it when a core part of her character is just doing things for her and not for Scott. ALSO this is the tiniest of nitpicks but the star on her bag also makes me feel this way, of being like Ramona. since the star is on Ramona's iconic bag. that one doesnt matter at all its just something i noticed. I LOVE the bang logo on her hoodie though, i think thats such a cool idea. i think maybe a t-shirt with the logo and a black face mask would be wonderful for her fight outfit

I know that this video is not new but I wanted to give my take on the scarf. Clearly Knives' outfit was designed to have a silhouette similar to a ninja but the fun part is that despite that she's still a barely adult teenage girl that got her heart broken and lives with her parents. No way that she has the money to buy serious ninja attire so she most likely had to improvise and picked a random scarf from her closet (that otherwise would be a ninja mask). But anyways this is just my take and I have to say that I really loved your Knives!

they all look wonderful. knives and ramona look especially fun. rip to ninja knives tho. also, ramonas bag looks uncomfortably long for if she’s gonna be rollerblading, but it is what it is. at least everything looks pretty :)

I’m not familiar with Scott Pilgrim almost at all, I know a few of the characters by name and that’s it lol. Anyway !!!! I know you tried to replicate the Scott Pilgrim style for this, and I think you did really well !!!!! In a lot of videos before you’ve said that you don’t have a consistent style but like. Even when it’s not consistent it always looks like YOUR style. Idk if it’s your use of color, your lineart or what, but you definitely have a recognizable style even if it’s not consistent imo :D

kinves' scottaholic outfit originally with the scarf reminds me of roblox r6 characters i luv her lol also the worry about the stereotpyical "asian woman dyes hair as rebel arc" i dont thnk you have to worry abt it,, like you said, under the guise of why she dyed her hair, and accompanied with the fact that you gave her a style for her casual outfit that wasn't just "black shirts ripped jeans" helps your case. You steered pretty clear of the trope :)

The silhouette of your scottaholic outfit feels too similar to the silhouette of your casual knives outfit design. The full black body suit is simple and the scarf makes it recognizable. I think it'd be better if scott's shirt in his winter outfit was longer, either as long as his jacket or even longer.

Im all about function when I make my clothing designs. I will add details to the character, but I reallly struggle with layering clothes, accessories, chains etc... One of my female oc's has a blonde bob with black tips on the sides and I spike it sideways. Her clothing is like a mesh t-shirt over her bra and a spiky belt choker on her neck after a long time leaving it as a half-body drawing to avoid coming up with the bottom half), I came up with a black tracksuit with a little bit of red and a black t-shirt with a soft deep neck (most t-shirts have a sown in harder part). The original outfit ended up with additional , thigh highs, sneakers (or boots) and a skirt with triangle cutouts on the ends. My oc is like a Punk-Goth pixie I guess.
