I'm really surprised to hear that people generally dislike City Folk. I used to love going to my cousins and playing it. I guess everyone's experience with games is different

I just got goosebumps when the city music was playing, so many memories! 😩 this was the best Animal Crossing release

City Folk is easily THE best AC game to date, the last one having actual character to villagers and life feel to the entire town. It all went downhill starting with the New Leaf which introduced the repetitive bland villager dialogues, and the whole Barbie-dollhouse heavy gameplay which we have now with the New Horizons. :/

City Folk is my personal favorite! I still play it from time to time. It’s literally the most relaxing thing to do ever

City folk is absolutely one of my faves! It balances ease of playing with the old rougher around the edges style, and its actually playable unlike wild world which always gives me a headache from lagging when I try LOL

For the town fund, if you donate enough money, you can get new bridges, a fountain, and even a lighthouse! So I definitely recommend donating, even if it’s 300 bells. Everything counts!

My strongest memory of this game was my brother and I thinking Curt was bullying us by calling us fuzzball, and our sister yelling at us for ruining the grass by running (suspiciously, the only grass ruined was between her house and the store 😳🤔)

The worst title in the franchise is NH wym City folk had its flaws, but it still retained the essence of AC since it was basically a more powerful version of Wild World. New Horizons is a dollhouse simulator with close to zero progression.

People dislike City folk cause it’s “basically” wild world, but even so compared to wild world it has the city, along with newer content. It’s better than wild world just cause of the extra features, just think it’s deserve way less hate than it gets, people just are more fond of wild world because of nostalgia

I remember always pulling up a guide of responses for how your villager looks every time I restarted my town~ and there was that thing where the traffic cones blocking the road had a chance of not being there so you could go into resetti's place~ and all kinds of different things~~~ I loved this game :>

People don't like City Folk??? It's my favorite!!

City Folk is my second favorite. New Leaf is great and shall always remain as my favorite. I’m tired of people saying it’s worse than Wild World. Yes, no being able to play on the go is a set back, but there’s just so much more content. For starters the game looks so much better. Online is supported a lot better. The city is such a cool mechanic. There’s something so magical about pointing at the screen. The music is so good. The nostalgia shall forever stick with me. This was my second animal crossing games after wild world. I got it in 2011 and Wild world in 2009. I love city folk. Wild World is worse because: 1. There’s 2 shops, 2. Online is worse, 3. It doesn’t look as good, 4. The music is lower quality, 5. There’s no holidays. All wild world has going for it is making it easier to play by portability and making it easier to make custom designs. The original really isn’t that great. It looks very bad for a gamecube game and those don’t look the best. The camera gimmick is horrible. Yes, the attitude and personality of villagers does make them stand out and more fun, but they were handlers best in city folk. They are just flat out rude and annoying in the original. And then new removed everything good about animal crossing and then changed it all so it feels like a completely different game in a completely different franchise. Then when they added a *few* things back, they changed it all so much it didn’t feel right. It’s not a bad game, just a bad animal crossing game. I think the HD and designing makes it feel like there’s more to do than the original but I can play new leaf or city folk for hours and not get bored but bored with new horizons in a couple minutes.

I've grown up playing animal crossing. My first one was AC:PG (The one for Gamecube) and then Wild World then City Folk and so on and so forth. In my opinion... Wild World just never did it for me, I much preferred City Folk because of the small things such as holidays, and the city. My only issue for City Folk was that they didn't really expand much of the gameplay content from Wild World. There should have been more of a happy medium of New Leaf and City Folk.

I absolutely loved city folk, I had loved the DS version but I really wanted something more and slightly new. City folk was perfect because I could visit my real life friends and going on shopping trips to the city together was the besssst especially once I got the credit card I felt like a boss 😂

Just me personally, city folk was my favorite and I put so much time into it. I also like New Leaf but I was not a big fan of Wild World at all! I don’t know why it was. The original is second best to me.

this was the first one I ever played! I had it on my wii and it was so fun! I remember getting 2 genie lamps and I got a bunch of credit cards XD in my opinion, the old ones are the best, because the villagers actually have personality. there's conflict and drama and it makes it so much more interesting

the very start of city folk takes place in an ominous black void created by tom nook himself in order to manipulate the player into going through the rest of the game, theres no escape.
