We don't always know quite what you'll say! It makes your presentation style unique, and the pop culture references mixed with treating it like an animate object adds to the fun. We can handle occasional blurry shots because the effort, time, and originality is there.

Brake fluid works but you have to let it soak. Just watch ToyPolli he uses it all the time. And I'm pretty sure even bare metal started using it after he watched toy polli as well. If you haven't watched toy you really should. He has a lot of great tips when it comes to working on plastics. Great channel by the way. I like that you are new to this. See I'm 47 and I still have all my hot wheels from when I was a kid. I've really been thinking about restoring my cars that are in rough shape. You know the ones kids paint. Yeah I've got probably 10 or 15 out of about 100 cars I painted when I was a kid. Would like to restore them. I like bare metal but he seems like a pro. You do a great job for beginners. It's nice to watch you as you learn and basically learn from your mistakes ( the few you have at least). Keep up the great work and thanks for sharing with us. You really do a good job and I like watching you play with the cars heh.

I appreciate you checking out my videos Roy, I'm glad you get that I'm a novice and not pretend to be better than I am. Brake fluid may work alright after a good soak but I need something faster acting. Going to try some of the other guys suggestions as my experience with brake fluid just takes to long. I don't have a lot of time to get these videos done and out. Thanks for watching, I hope you dig out all your old cars and fall in love with them all over again!

just some detail information to help out the "tail lights" are not tail lights they are the exhaust outlets and were not painted the louvers on the rear where painted a flat or semi gloss black paint. if you check out onlineredlineguide.com you'll see examples of most redline era cars and paint charts if you wanted to do one in a "rare" color.

Oh damn.. well that's good to know. I would have preferred to do them black anyways. The guy before painted them red so that didn't even cross my mind. Thanks man.

@@DiecastResurrection you're welcome. it is hard to tell sometimes when the cars are heavily painted over to know what was and wasn't painted over or what the correct color was. Also 99% isopropyl alcohol or lighter fluid helps with paint on plastics but you will need to use a bit of elbow grease to lift the paint. From what I've seen with brake fluid you need to have the part soak in it so the chemicals can eat way at the paint.

I've been watching 3 of you guys that do these Matchbox & Hot Wheels restorations. and find your electrolysis polishing & zinc plating interesting. I love cars, models, slot cars, add infinitum. But I think these processes may also work on some of the parts to the vintage air rifles I restomod? Like some of the Crosman receiver halves (like the 760 Powermaster pumper) are die cast zinc/zinc alloy. Might make getting a smooth finish before painting or plating certain parts easier?
@AMStationEngineer

There just has to be a way to configure a replacement, arbor press-clinched, post rivet. I really think that babbitt alloy could be used. Possibly lathe-turn a babbitt rod, secure into the prepped post with epoxy, then clinch with the press??

When you first started spraying... That's really really really close to the shade that I thought you were going for on the Deora. It's not exact, but it's a lot closer than what you got. Edit: There's a part starting around 7:33 when it was still a light coat and the ZAMAC could still just barely show through the paint.

Ok... That came out phenomenal! Is this your new process that you mentioned in the Deora video? I remember hearing you mention at some point how good the condition of the body was in after you removed all the paint. Maybe all that extra paint and goop was inadvertently preserving the body's original finish. Anyway, again... Nice job! I like the ZAMAC base too. The color is spot on. 👌 I think I'll watch the AMC Pacer one next. Yeah that's the one, see?
