We have 2 Redodo 100 amp hour batteries Wired up to busbars and our Solar set up is 12 V we have two Victron smart charge controllers networked together a 100/50 smart c/c with 6 Renorgy 9 bus barrs 100 watt solar panels wired up in series series parallel and a 100/15 smart controller c/c with 4. 100 watt Renorgy 9 bus Barr solar panels wired in series series parallel and we are using this set up to run our full size top mount freezer Frigidaire refrigerator. Our Redodo battery’s work very good (at this time anyway) We’ve been using this set up since July/August somewhere in that area of time.The only thing that limits us is the whether,,,if we have too much cloudy or overcast days we have to put the refrigerator on grid power till the batteries charge back up other than that these batteries have been real work horses. I’m using a 12 V 1200 W Victron phoenix inverter and a Victron smart shunt. I’m thinking about adding a third charge controller with 300 or 400 W to the system for the rest of the winter months and building another Solar set up similar to the one we have now as a kind of back up and additional power. At this point we would highly recommend Redodo batteries 👍😊 I think my advice would be concerning these batteries is,,,,,,,,it’s kind of like watching a stripper,,,,,,don’t ask how it’s done just enjoy what’s coming off👍😊 💃👯‍♀️💃👗👙👍😊

Another great video! As a suggestion for future videos, I would like to see review of cells from different distributers from China. Building your own battery are still much cheaper than buying a prebuilt, but the risk of not getting high quality cells is still high, so a list of “trusted” sellers had been great.

because these cheapo BMS do not have a Micro controller. Anything that actually measures temp would require a micro-controller and ADC to read temperatures and then send signals to the fets to turn them on / off. Instead they use DUMB bms units which have no way of converting a thermal probes resistance readings into a temperature reading. They will never change, adding a MCU would add about $15.00-$20.00/unit

@@putteslaintxtbks5166 Utter nonsense there is no chip shortage for things at 14NM process, the chip shortage you refer to is usually EUV process which is cutting edge, Plenty of FABS are abel to make UV chips. This is an excuse people throw around to charge more or give excuses. Don't buy into this, THe shipping companies were doing the same BS, ohh no covid, shortage then companies like HOme Depot bought there own shipping vessels and MSC, Maserks, and other shipping cartels realized the gig is up and now rates are back to normal. There is no chip shortage on the 14NM and lower process that these every day micro controllers are built on. The Chinese simply go for the cheapest possible option to maximum profit.

I am interested in the max discharge current. Have you tested the continuous load at 200a as well as the max 400a load at 5 seconds. I plan to have two of these 24v 200ah batteries wired in series attached to a 24v inverter and a bow thruster. Primary use is going to be an inverter with nothing above 1200W pulling. This is on a boat and I will occasionally have a 330A 24V load for 2 to 10 seconds at a time for the bow thruster. With two batteries in series I should have 400A continuous and 800A for 5 seconds available. If the BMS cuts the battery off how does it reset. I believe some BMS’s will reset in 5 seconds after the load is removed, others you have to wait quite a while and some have to have all the leads disconnected from the battery. I believe that I have a sufficient safety margin on the amp draw but am interested in actual results from an independent test.

@LithiumSolar
@LithiumSolar 4 ай бұрын
I couldn't really tell you... Almost all companies selling these type of batteries seem to list 4 as the max for parallel connectivity. At first I thought it had to do with short-circuit current; however, each battery would have its own BMS so I'm not sure that's the case. I don't know.

Yes, you can wire these batteries in parallel. This is a 24V 200Ah so if you wired two in parallel you would have 24V 400Ah (not 12V). No special BMS or changes are needed for paralllel wiring.

Can you explain the reason behind the limit of parallel batteries? Manual states 4 max, why is this ?
@LithiumSolar

That's a great question. I believe it has to do with the amount of short-circuit current a BMS can safely interrupt under a fault. That said, pretty much every battery I review states a max of 4 and I don't see how they can ALL be 4, sooo....

One unit that no one does a proper review of is the natures generator it's a great starter price and good be a great starter unit but it has improper charging parameters for sealed lead acid batteries yes it keeps the price down by using sealed lead acid batteries but if the battery would last 5 to 8 years a person on low budget can save enough money to buy a lithium unit and with proper reviews it could fix the charging parameters problem and maybe put a programmable mppt solar charge controller and windcharger controller with the ability to charge lithium just think when the sealed lead acid battery needs to be replaced it could be replaced with a lithium battery and you'd have a great unit the best thing about this unit is there sold at the big box stores so even in Canada it's a affordable price I can stretch my budget to buy a 2000 $ unit and that's with extra battery units and a 400 watt windcharger but if all the reviews say is that they work when bought nothing about having to buy new batteries every year because they are not fully charged and discharge below safe limits causing the batteries to die prematurely then they won't change if I hadn't found utube and found out the proper charging parameters for sealed lead acid batteries I'd probably bought one after all I had bought new booster packs for years for the 400 watt modified sine wave inverter so I could charge my cordless power tools and run a drill for my work I always that's how long the battery lasted so far I've got an extra year of life out of the last one I bought because when it started losing capacity I started charging it proper I had checked with the manufacturer if their charge parameters were correct and they lied and said they were since I found utube I've also found out how to change the battery in my old booster packs so I'll rebuild some of my better ones and upgrade them as well

@@LithiumSolar then sealed batteries are junk. Who knows where these vendors will be is 1 year. They keep changing names like every other year. And overall all these batteries seem to be made on the same production line. They only have sticker label. No real brands, just funny names with colorful labels. At leask sok can sell parts and you can take it apart and fix. The most sensitie part is the bms. Good luck with amazon vendors from china and warranty. Nobody buys that. Properly recicle a battery means , open up and see if cells are good and reuse with new bms. This noname brands from china that sell on amazon, feels unamerican.

@@crinabobo7412 I can't say that I disagree there... Brand names seem to be disposable in a way. From the manufacturer's perspective though, there is a lot of danger in telling the customer to open and service the battery themselves, many customers whom are not qualified to do so (ie don't know what they're doing). I guess I have mixed feelings on the matter. SOK for sure though if looking for quality and serviceability!

@@LithiumSolar I understand your position, but changing names and disolving companies ( vendor names) because none that sell on amazon are producere/ manufacturer, every other year washes away liability and warranty and these vendors are nor registed in USA, they are just seller from China that happens to have a warehouse in Los Angeles ( shipping port near). This practice is not inspire trust. I see how many are complaining on warranty. Called few vendors that sell on amazon, none has a custoner service phone line active just an email address where a guy from China in broken English trys to convice you about their 10 year warranty. A warranty without representation does not exist, this type of bussiness should not be allowed on american soil. And all these batteries from China should be heavely taxed and then things will be made here at much higher standards. I apreciate your videos, but as we know all reviewers get a percentage of sales and free products. What we will do with people that get stuck with failed batteries of 1 or 2 years old that were promised 10 years life. And I think that nobody dies from a 12 or 24 v dc battery, not even 48 v dc. People should be warned about warranty reality of everchanging vendor names, majority on amazon. Eg4 and sok seem to be consistent, ir build yourself. The rest is just take the risk. I feel bad for the people that went ahead and bought sticker batteries and now are left with empty pocket. If ypu buy the costco Lion you are assured of 100 % warranty even in 10 years . Free return. Pay a bit more for a trusted product.
