My requested tutorial/guide vid. I hope this helps. I didn't write a script or anything, if that wasn't obvious. This video is mostly tips on how to better your own learning, and an explanation of the ship stats. I can't practice the game for you, but I can tell you what works for me.
I didn't play Redout 1 in 2016, I got good at this game by playing all the tutorials and teaching myself through lots of failure. I do have an extensive history in FPSs and Flight Sims though; maybe that helped?

Was curious if this touched on the Steam Input for square deadzones. In my experience, the game defaults to circle deadzones, leaving the strafe and pitch inputs halved when the right stick is pressed diagonally. VS a keyboard that has full input range. To address this on Steam: 1. Right click on your game in your steam library. 2. Navigate to: Manage -> Controller layout 3. Select your desired controller (Enable Steam Input if it isn't already enabled) 4. Press "Edit Layout" and navigate to the joysticks tab 5. Press the gear icon next to the Joystick dropdown menu [Right Joystick] 6. Under the Deadzone section. Set the "Deadzone type" to "Custom" 7. An option for "Deadzone shape" should appear. Change it to square. You're controller should now have full input range for strafe and pitch, and in-game ships should feel more responsive.

I haven't personally noticed this, I play this game without STEAM input, it feels the same for me on PC as playing on console.. which is good 👍. Thanks for sharing this tip though, that's a weird phenomenon that has probably messed some people up.
