You guys need to see if the place you rent your skid steer has a forestry mulcher attachment or someone near you has one that you can pay to do a few hours of work. Would make a huge dent.

They don’t have a forestry mulcher but they have a bush hog for the front of a skid steer. Problem is their high flow machine has been down for months. They do have another bush hog option that I may rent in the future when we have some down time with the house.

Just over 20 total. Probably only half issuable right now and the other half is overgrown.

Why don’t you use goats or even sheep for clearing the land? Would give you more time for other projects and meat or milk from the animals. Goats are pretty difficult for beginners but sheep are almost as efficient 😊

We plan to get some sheep in the spring. We weren't setup to get everything all at once when we first got here and most lambs lamb in the spring. We will hopefully have some in the late spring or early summer.

We agree! The drive is not the deal breaker for us, we just aren't sure we want as many as his minimum purchase. I think he requires you to buy 10 ewes minimum. If we can't find any St. Croix closer with less minimums we might just get the 10 and then put a couple in the freezer or sell some.
