I hope the weather and life cooperate so you can do more outdoor printing. For you as well as for us! I really appreciate your generosity and candor bringing us with you as you navigate the elements and your process. A treat I relish and am grateful for. Thank you!

Lovely video, thank you! It was great to see your process when working outside. It's also really useful to hear how you struggle with perfectionism, but how you try and adapt your thought process to work through it. Lots of love! ❤

Yes, I love your process! You really must be your absolute toughest critic...I think your work is so lovely. In this reduction carving/printing process, I guess there is no going back...scary because you invest so much time.

I didn’t feel very patient that day to be honest! 😅 It can be fiddly, I find the printing part the most temperamental part of the process!

Wonderful to see your process of plain air printing, I’ve never tried it myself and now am wanting to give it a go! I’m really enjoying your videos, not too many printmakers on KZfaq, please keep making them!

Very cool seeing your process and hearing more detail about how you make a reduction print! Also I love the calm, chill vibes this video gives off! And what I think I love the most is your honesty in showing and talking about making mistakes while making art and things now turning out quite as you imagined. It's so reassuring to see someone who is so skilled and whose art I really admire, is also trying their best to not beat themselves up over things not being perfect ❤ The print turned out very pretty imo but what I for one appreciate most is you showing it and the process of making it even though you weren't overly happy with it, it reassures me it's OK to just make art whether it turns out well or not and gives me the confidence to just try anyway! Sorry for gushing 😂🙈 Looking forward to your future videos!

Aw I honestly have tears in my eyes reading that 🥹 thank you so much for your thoughtful comment Beth. There is so much self-doubt and feelings of failure each time I make art. It’s hard when you constantly strive for perfection as let’s be honest the perfect artwork never exists. When I really think about it, real, honest art will always imperfect, that’s how it should be because it’s made by humans who are themselves imperfect ✨ thanks again Beth 🥰

Thank you Molly. Hound Tor is one of my favourite places especially beyond down to the old settlement remains. Have you geen to Buckland Beacon - another fabulous place to get a 360 degree view of the moors and coast? It was so inspiring to see you working and going through the processes, I just need to be brave and make a start. Thank you for sharing. 😊

Lovely video and beautiful work Molly! I'm inspired to try this myself (I have a Pooki press too and do linocut already so hopefully it's quite transferrable). I'm interested in the frame/ registration method you are using for the pooki press - I'm wondering if I can make something similar, but I don't have any woodwork tools or even the knowledge to make a frame - although I'm sure it's very simple! Do you have any tips on that or any tutorials you know of? :) Hope you are enjoying your residency with J&S! x
@mollylemonart
@mollylemonart 5 ай бұрын
Thank you! The actual registration method is just card with a hole for the block and then a right angle of card to help line up the paper against, the wooden bit is just a simple wooden frame, you could use any frame you find as long as it’s shallower than the height block… if that makes sense!?
@jessw2283
@jessw2283 5 ай бұрын
@@mollylemonart Thanks for the reply! Oh I see, so the height of the frame doesn’t really matter, that’s good to know. My friend can make frames and is going to make something for me and we’ll both have a go at this! :) Thanks so much. Looking forward to experimenting - I love your vids on here 😊👍
