You know how we say don't blame Joel Matip as if the whole game he was a wall in defence and slipped up at the final moment, but he had times where he absolutely just failed. Like when he ran solo into Tottenham's half and lost the ball, it reminded me of stuff dejan lovren used to do under Brendan Rodgers. And in the 2021/2022 season, we drew against city twice because of two deflected goals off matip after shots from de bruyne. Matip is the reason we needed another CB in the summer, he is unreliable and his playstyle is all over the place at times. He constantly looks vulnerable and now after that own goal his confidence will be at an all time low which will cause him to make more mistakes in future games, so I think klopp should just start quansah if van dijk or konate are not fully fit or even Gomez when Trent is fit enough again to play in the RB position. Matip is not the answer anymore, we need a sturdy, reliable CB at the back who has good control of the ball when needed. No hate to Joel, he's been a warrior for us in the past few seasons, but we need to move on and that own goal just showed a player who can't keep his calm in tense situations which is what a club like Liverpool need.

The own goal was the worst part I would have taken a draw after the 2nd red. Terrible referee and var.

Very bad refereeing in this match - Diaz wasn't offside & Curtis shouldn't have been sent off If Diaz's goal wasnt offside, Spurs would be chasing us and Jota may not have felt the need to try a slide tackle to get the ball back as Liverpool wouldve been leading. Absolutely robbed.
