Major respect to the first ref, handled that situation like a champ. Rule no°1 is that yu let the f go when someone taps, and anything to do with a choke hold is genuinely life threatening so to not let go immediately is a sign that they are a serious risk to others and should be penalised severely. Immediate dq or banning should be commonplace for such moments.
@koevirel8350
@koevirel8350 11 ай бұрын
Exactly. When he taps game over everything after u are trying to kill guy period. People don't understand hoe dangerous is this sport and them rules are to protect fighters and it takes seconds to kill or hurt someone really bad and is not that f seriously

I believe chokes aren’t life threatening when done properly. A professional choke targets the blood circulation when the choke is released the blood flows again without any problems
@brentrebrab
@brentrebrab 7 ай бұрын
@@aliaseau-vive2699 yes because accidents never happen in the octagon. Even if yu nail it, blood flow restriction can cause serious brain damage and also death. My point is that if the move has the potential to kill or inflict serious lasting damage there should be absolutely 0 leeway given to those who demonstrate a lack of restraint.
@Khasym
@Khasym 7 ай бұрын
@@aliaseau-vive2699 A blood choke that lasts about eight seconds, is non life threatening. Ten seconds or more, is when you start causing damage to the arteries themselves, which can have dangerous, possibly lethal consequences even AFTER the blood choke is removed. The jugular veins feel tough in a fight, because they're under intense pressure to keep blood flowing to the brain. Restrict that pressure enough, damage or abrade the interior of those veins, and you are basically playing with cotton candy for a circulation system. Aneurysms, strokes, brain degradation due to insufficient oxygen over a long, undiagnosed period of time: all are options for a blood choke by an idiot who forgets this isn't a street fight, but a match with RULES and what's supposed to be RESPECT for your opponent.

@@Aaroncarter95 Emmanuel Augustus? One of the most robbed and underrated fighters ever seen, all because he could dance and kick ass at the same time (drunken master), seriously, I fell out of love with boxing for a decade or so because he is legit one of the most versatile and entertaining fighters to ever grace the sport but the purists held him back (a real case of cancel culture), he would take any fight at short notice and often hand the established fighter a beating, the battle of their career and even retirement, leaving nearly eveyone he fought saying he was their toughest ever opponent (see Floyd Mayweather & Mickey Ward for example). The difference is, he was not an arrogant man and was actually a very graceful and respectful fighter. The 'bob & weave' was not part of boxing initially and the same criticisms could have been levelled at that, avoiding punches is as important as throwing them. if not moreso.
