Thank you for your clear video showing that you just fill the sponge only!!. I too have the see thru cartridges, After watching i realised i had been over filling them!!. I thought one had to also fill the large air space in the cartridge as well. This now explains why half the damn ink drained out into the printer overnight!! . I think maybe im not the only one ...

You should fully fill it, even that free space.

@@oliwier000b Are you filling them full? I filled mine like half full, and, after some time the ink leaked, because the part without sponge was empty.

@@nk4j272 yes i fill them full and there's no problem, of course sometimes with some inks you shouldn't fill them full just because every ink has different density, by density i mean if its watery its going to flow out of the cartridge.

@@oliwier000b Ah, ok, Interesting. Thanks for answering. Do you have any clue why my ink might be leaking? Should I try a different type of ink?

@@nk4j272 @nk4j it might be because the cartridge is faulty, maybe it's not sealed correctly (the rubber cap is loose for example), it also may just be that the sponge isn't flush with the plastic around it. I have seen a lot of videos where people fill them to the brim and they have no problem with it. Even some seethrough one-use replacement cartridges have the empty space filled. Of course a different type of ink will be worth trying.

No, the printer will only tell you that the ink levels are low :)

Wrong title. Your not refilling a HP cartridge your just swapping a replacement cartridge then refilling that. Not what I was looking for....sorry.
