What gas system should you have in your van?
How do you refill gas and avoid swapping costly Calor gas bottles?
What do you do on the continent, in France and Spain where Calor isn't available?

Thank you. Not even Gaslow think it important to mention the type of GAS they are using. Thank you for making a point about it being an LPG. Planning to fill for the first time on my own and didn't want to use incorrect gas. The petrol station staff not very knowledgeable. Your video gives me confidence.

Glad it was useful. In the UK you'll see LPG. On the continent it's GPL

Gas locker is not for storage of anything other than the gas cylinders and associated hoses. You may encounter difficulty when filling at forecourt and opening the gas locker door to refill. I wonder why was the filler point installed inside the gas locker and not on the outside?

Useful. On our new Swift we have decided to go for a 30l underslung gas canister rather than a bottles thus freeing up the gas locker for storage completely. With you useful video, I am ready to fill it up.

Just fitted a single Gaslow bottle 11kg filled it from empty 21 litres £15. Like you kept filler point in locker . Keeping 6kg Calor to work alongside if i can't get to a autogas garage. £280 from Hamilton Gas.

Really useful information for us, thanks. We have negotiated the fitting of a gas lo system for our new campervan (which has just been delivered to the dealer and we got to see it yesterday!). Now the dilemma is do we really need two 11kg bottles!!!! Like you I think extra space for ‘stuff’ might be useful....hmmmm. Enjoy your travels

Glad it was useful Ruth. Maybe check how difficult it would be to add one in the future? Then start with a single bottle and add another if you feel you need it?

Thanks for this very useful video. Something I knew little about. I think the installation costs outweigh any benefit I’d get, given how we use our vehicle so you’ve made up our minds to stick with bottled gas for now.

Very useful. Thank you. We have decided to opt for refillables but just wondering how best to find stations that operate LPG gas.They seem few and far between? We are based in South West London. Any tips?

It's a good question. I've not tried it closed and I'm away from the van at the moment. I think you'd need it open.

i have one gaslow 13 kg and one calor 6kg bottle ... best of both worlds just recognised where you fill up...lol

Haha! Good to have both. You've probably spotted that we're using the space for a second bottle for other things, maybe if we had less stuff!! :-)

@@2.4inaVan did you close the valves on the bottles that go to the appliances or leave them open and just turned the appliances off??. Cheers 🍻

@@kevinconnor9482 we weren't using any gas during filling, but we didn't shut off the valve. It's probably a good idea to though

@@2.4inaVan thanks.... I thought perhaps you had to work out how much you need (up to 80%) to fill up. So I'm relieved at that!!! Thanks. I do not have an external valve so will connect direct to the bottle....either while in the locker or if I take the bottle out and take it away to fill up.
