what a wholesome dude

1) Use paint stripper, with natural bristle disposable brush 2) Use putty knife (rounded corners) & scrape off old finish into box 3) Medium coarse steel wool removes finish from rounded edge 4) Liquid stripper applied liberally with a brush 5) Medium/fine steel wool with long straight passes 6) Use a lacquer thinner brushed on 7) Use fine steel wool for final cleaning 8) Sanding (used finishing sander with 220 grit sandpaper) 9) Apply stain of choice with rag or brush (brush preferred) applied in the direction of grain 10) Wipe off excess with rag. Let dry for 24 hours 11) For top coat, use Polyurethane semi-gloss (stir before using) 12) Wipe table before applying 13) Use natural bristle brush to apply (high quality brush is best) 14) Apply 3 coats & sand lightly in between 15) Apply paste finishing wax with pad of 0000 steel wool

For anyone on the fence about following this, I HIGHLY recommend it. I did my 20+ yr old table that my dad had made and I was so afraid to mess it up, but I followed this exactly and it looks brand new, with a nice hard finish! It looks almost better than the day it was brought in the house the first time ❤ so thank you so much for the detailed steps!

Whats funny to me is that i needed to refinish a table my mom just picked up today, hence doing a little more research (i have wood working experience but never had to refinish anything) and the table in this video is almost exactly the same as the table she got from an old friend today. The design (minus a few little details) is the same. This was the first video i clicked on too. Thats the best coincidence since i can follow the video exactly.

When Ron says sand lightly, sand lightly-Just enough to get the rogue bubbles out. (220 grit). Also I used the Paste Finishing Wax (Natural color), I haven’t used it before but will from now on. The shine doesn’t fade, it just gets better! Thanks Mr. Ron!!! My table looks great!
