I grabbed this 3 piece coffee table set from Facebook Marketplace for next to nothing! The tops were bubbled but I liked the lines and I knew I could bring them back to life with a little paint. This video will show how I smoothed out the damaged tops, caulked some seams and gave these tables a versatile new look in white.
Used in this video:
+ Blueland Multi Purpose Cleaner
+ Ryobi Orbital Sander with 100 & 180 grit sandpaper
+ Surf Prep 3x4 Electric Ray Sander with 400 grit sandpaper
Use code KATIESCOTT10 to save 10% at www.surfprepsanding.com
+ 3M Respirator with P100L Filters
+ Kilz Restoration Primer
+ Wagner Flexio 590 Sprayer
+ DAP Drywall Spackle
+ Melange Artisan Mineral Paint in “Paperie White”
+ Varathane Diamond Wood Finish in Satin
(Varathane Ultimate Water Based Polyurathane in the US)

Salutations Katie!!! As always great video & fantastically done on the furniture. As soon as I get home from work tonight I'm going to share Blueland with the Wife. In the past 2 years we switched everything in the house away from chemical cleaners. But.... as you know they're mostly all in single use plastic spray & squeeze bottles. It will help us get another step closer to sustainability to eliminate the amount of trash bottles we generate. Thanks for sharing, hoping all is well, & Dirty Jersey out!!!

I got rid of a set just like this a few years ago. I was sad because I didn’t want to get rid of them but we didn’t have space for them. I hope they went to sent someone like you who restored them. They look great. I would have done the same thing to them if I still had them.

Wow! Oak is just not my favorite wood, so when I saw those pretty common looking “oak”tables I didn’t hold out much hope that I’d like them refinished. Should have known though……the trick you used to fill in the veneer grain on the tops made all the difference. They really do look more contemporary and like you said very versatile. Just love your videos! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

That Ryobi random orbit sander is a beast! I’ve had mine for years, bought a few others and I always go back to it. I have it connected to a mini Craftsman shop vac. Folks can show us the fancy Festools and Surf Prep systems at work all they want, but imho? My Ryobj and that mini shop vac are just as good and they’re a legit fraction of the price!

AT LAST From : Fairytales of the Sister They were a wayward trio... together but always alone Sad and rough looking .. but still strong and dependable to each other The pretty ones laughed and scoffed the sisters --- the Sisty Ughlers they called them Katie appeared one night .. as a dream she floated -- she brushed and scrubbed and polished and shined --- Dawn arose and the Sisters stirred They saw each the other and then their self ... That day , the Villagers recalled, the saintly parade of the Three Brides ... The white maidens slowly and shyly moving past them Moving with a glowing light of joy and a long life to come.... Sisty Ughlers no more

Hello, first of all sorry for my bad English but I am French and I use a translator ;) . I also wanted to tell you that I love your channel (even though you speak English I can't understand anything lol), but the videos are quite telling by themselves, and these are an incredible source of ideas ... So I am of course subscribed and the bell is on :) . It's giving me lots of ideas for my next apartment which I'm going to get before the end of May! I also wanted to know why you changed your paint gun, is the new one you're using (the black and yellow one) really good? (I was hesitating to get it). Anyway THANK YOU for all the time you spend and the knowledge you share with us! Have a nice day Lucas

Hi Lucas! Thank you so much for supporting the channel ❤️ I was getting asked about inexpensive beginner friendly sprayers every day. I got myself a Wagner to try out so that I could share my experiences with it. Unfortunately my old air compressor is dying a slow and painful death so the electric sprayer has been picking up the slack 😉❤️

Water based poly’s should not yellow. If you apply them too thick you may get drips or pools that yellow but usually discolouration is coming from underneath the paint.
