Good choice on the car. From what I hear, Miatas with manual transmission lasts for a very long time just like the Corolla. Even better if it was made in Japan. Just look for the VIN number and if the first character is a J, then it's made in Japan.

@@donshields2379 That one was made in one of three countries: Iran, Pakistan, or Turkey. Google "World Manufacturer Identifier" for more information. I didn't know about this until after I got my Corolla Hybrid and saw a video from a mechanic dropping the info that cars that were made in Japan are built to last longer. Lucky for me, my Corolla Hybrid was made in Japan.

The jump from 5K to 10K in XC is a big adjustment. Especially if you’re having an off day. You both had an impressive frosh season. Good luck at the US Jr XC trials if that’s on your schedule.

Stay positive, and keep grinding. Do it because you love it, and you’ll be quicker and enjoy it even more. Aside from that you can try to nail down a consistent sleep schedule, a consistent diet, and just keep running!

How often do they change the course, and why don't they just keep it the same course every year. It's weird in my opinion to change the course because then you have to strategize differently and it makes it more harder on the runners.

I would watch some of our workout videos, and shift the paces a bit to what works for you and make them quite a bit shorter, and just see what feels good and whats challenging. Your only 11 which means you've got plenty of time to experiment and explore the sport and have fun with it.

yeah i have to say for high schoolers who have great endurance but slow twitch muscles and do high mileage by default-- speed work is key and easily neglected-- body has to get used to not breaking down at higher paces even though you might run 60 mpw@@jackmarcheese

Wait why is a 170 heart rate surprising isn't that pretty standard on a run regardless of fitness? 🤔🤔🤔
@donshields2379
@donshields2379 7 ай бұрын
A lot depends on how hard you are working. If you are very fit and HR is 170 then you are working very hard. Age also determines it. Younger people have higher heart rates. Older. People heart rate slows.
@massimopicca

A lot of elite runners tend to have very low heart rates. For example a lot of Conner Mantz’s runs are at like 125 avg

Can you please stop saying the term "UMM". Please. You used it hundreds of times if not a thousand times. It really destroys this video. You go to Stanford!! No need to have the most word used in your audio of the video be "UMM" if "UMM" is one of your sponsors ok, if not stop that its beyond annoying.

No need for the brusque comment. Suggest it more politely without being too brunt. You can tell the twins are very enthusiastic to get behind camera, so nervous speech ticks are likely to be voiced. And they are still very young - with more experience speaking extemporaneously, they could possibly eliminate those speech patterns.
@TheCyclesport
@TheCyclesport 7 ай бұрын
@@unfliteredandunapologetic3004 More politely... I started out by saying Please. my comment was simply Unflitered and Unapologetic. I do ponder that your intellect could relate to that. No? They have been creating outstanding videos for years, this is nothing new to them. I profoundly admire the twins as athletes and as humans. I am an announcer for sporting events and the flaws in verbalization of their experiences rang loud to me. I can delcare, they are doing better then I would have been able to muster at their age with the videos and the content. Best to them always!
