This is an amazing knowledge around regas. I am not as technical guy, And i try to use common knowledge of turntables to understand what makes good quality turntables. Making plinth lighter is a back words logic, but i guess regas engineers knows better than me so they might be right. Thanks for all this great insights, and thank you for watching my videos.

Thanks man I really appriaciate your comment! I also have x1 now. One thing i failed to mention is how x1 also plays so well with different varaity of catridges. On my newer reviews, there are far less cuts, I learned few things on the way about presenting and editing ever since that video.

Hey, thanks for this comment man, I rally enjoy reading it. I think it falls with Rega philosophy of keeping everything light, and mechanical, to prevent as much of vibration as possible. Even thou it can go both ways. I unfortunately am not a engineer and only thing I know is from reading, and experimenting with sound variation and quality. So which way and path is best I am not so deeply in that. Even thou I have a lot of experience with different tables, and read about them. I only listened Debut Carbon, never had one in my home, did rubber mat fix the problem? I use cork mat, as I personally more prefer them. I heard it can be a common issue in DC, the only solution beings to be replaced by manufacturer. Planar 3 and X1 are more mature device, and I don`t have rumble with them, neither should you. Also with Planar 1, but the thing is ... it is an entry device, and when motor is solidly connected to plinth it might cause rumble, but it also might not it is all about luck. I am so sorry, I just dont have experience with vintage gear, nor do I know anyone who might interduce me to quality vintage gear. So there will not be any vintage gear at this channel. But generally why the belt drive is more common in cheaper gear, which is sonically amazing, is that it creates less static noise than direct drive. And spin of motor is more free, and less electronics in the way. So that is way even thou it being more hassle that manufacturers choose belt over direct drive. That is as far as I know, but I don`t shy away from good Technics Turntable with direct drive. Who knows maybe I will review one in future those 1200GR-S looks amazing.

The rubber mat partially've solved the problem of the rumble vibrations, and also the remedy was to put on the one side of resin suspension of the motor the small rounds of rubber fitted under the inner side of motor adjacent to a subdisc in a slight upright position (some degrees), so the belt"s housing on a pulley in somehow not even way come to a drive. It forced the gear to transmit the tension from the pulley to the subdisc in a corresponded normal way. It normalised overall belt travel and the rumble been reduced to overall opinion. My previous turntable which I liked a lot was russian rather heavy direct drive device Электроника ЭП-017С, with a rather light weighted tonearm with a specially designed system which allow playing vinyls with much not even surface. In Russia vintage technica are popular and contemporary turntables are often misloved by a keen vinyl enthusiasts who experienced the vinyl Golden era of the 80-90s direct drive Japan models. In approximation I'll maybe be interested in Audiotechnica 120usb modern direct drive it's rather cheap comparing to Technics 1200 which is nowadays replica of glorious model of 80s for dj use as well. Maybe'll try to find my loved russian gear which I had before problematic Pro-Ject DC? Thanks for reply! Good luck!

That is too much hassle, to get something you should out of box. But hopefully next one you get, will sound the way that your old Turntable did. And when you sit down with your favorite vinyl, you also will remember the golden age. :)
