You never want to interrupt a parked regen. Depending on what stage your truck is at in the process, this can easily leave the DPF too clogged up to restart and properly continue the process later. This results in expensive AF repairs to your DPF system, maybe even having to replace the filters. On a semi, you could be looking at 2k+ easy.

My Cummins 8.3 Freightliner m2-106 manual regen simply does not work. Does that mean it doesn't need one, or it's shop time?

If it does not work. turn the truck off wait 30 seconds turn it back on and try it again. it worked for me.

Great question! The answer varies with engine manufacture and size. For example: Cummins mid bore engines work similar to the Ford you described in that the engines ECM directs the injectors to dose the after treatment system with a small amount of diesel during the exhaust stroke.

For some reason on my freightliner m2 the regen light never goes on, and I wanted to do a force regen but this did not work, I suppose it does it while driving it bit I feel like it does the regen too often

Im doing my first regen and it’s still idling after 10 minutes, and the other light is on and off. Is it suppose to do that?

Wait a couple of minutes after regen if have the lamp on. Mine was gone after 5-10 minutes.

I have a freight liner that’s automatic 5 ton 2016 and this method doesn’t work for me. Please help I always have to turn off the truck for 30 mins at a time whenever the regen lights come on because I can’t regen Manuelyy

I had problem with regen few days ago , did all the steps but didn't work for me .... Then i drove my truck around the truck stop on very high rpm's and then it did it ... Hope it helps
