The 2006 draft class bums me out. So much hype for them, most hyped up class I’ve ever seen, and absolutely none of it came to be. And Reggie Bush was the headliner. The guy had a good career. Folks expected him to be this big record setter and all that. That being said it was a huge surprise to pretty much everyone when he didn’t go to Houston. And the Saints 2006 season was pretty awesome. He definitely contributed big time during his years there in NOLA.

It was a tragedy that the Texans passed up on Reggie. Houston's run offense would've been perfect for him.

Instead they drafted a 4x pro bowler who could’ve been even better without injuries.

Idk. I think Reggie came to the nfl too early. If he came out today he would be better or a slot receiver. Maybe a #1 receiver tbh

I was at his USC Pro Day and I met Houston Sports Reporter John McClain and he told me the Texans was going to draft Bush, but they didn't but Bush Team wanted the Jets and didn't even come down to Houston for a visit.. Why would a team draft you if you didn't even come down or return calls????

Been learning about Drew Brees' quality as a leader recently and it's very impressive. I wasn't even expecting him to be mentioned in this video, but it doesn't surprise me. That's just how he was.

I was one of the few that thought Mario Williams was the pick they should of made. Where I thought they messed up with was they could of traded back and got picks. Vince Young and Reggie Bush were touted higher. My issue with Bush was that he would be injury prone as he split time with LenDale White.

Yeah, but in hindsight, the Texans got it right. Bush was an okay running back who even though won the Super Bowl, didn't really become the Saints' franchise player whereas Mario Williams was a 4x pro-bowler who set a franchise record for most sacks with the Texans until JJ Watt broke that mark.

Mario Williams isn't a bust he has 97.5 career sacks in only 11 seasons

mario williams was a safer pick. A guy who u could plug into ur line up for a decade. Which he did. Reggie was hyped and exciting but wasnt evenn the best back.

Houston shot themselves in the foot that year. They didn't pick Vince Young or Matt liner, or Reggie Bush. They went with some Defense linemen named Mario Williams. They had a jumpy quarterback who had no one blocking for him. Soon after that. Houston got flooded with every reject New Orleans.
