This song reminded me of when I was young and I was by passed for a job and I felt like crap and the simplest thing like a hug was what desperately wanted just for someone to say I love you and that am not a nobody that's all especially a tight hug and I just thought of this song and replaced Regina Belle with The Almighty God 🙏 saying baby come to me, cos I love you inspite of the world rejecting you and it stuck in my head ever since anytime I hear this song I just envisage the Almighty God 🙏 telling the Angels clear the pathway and bring the child to me cos I will always be your father. Thank you holy spirit for putting that thought in my head that day cos it encouraged me never to give up in spite of the trials and tribulations of the world, thank you so much our father Yeshua for your sacrifice I really really felt unloved that day but this song just popped into my head saying baby come to me and I will give you rest thank you thank you Almighty Yeshua, thank you so much ❤. I still cry cos I really felt my world had ended that day being threatened with eviction and I really wanted that job, however it is said that the righteous child of the Almighty God 🙏 will face many obstacles but the Almighty God 🙏 will deliver him from them all, I got a better job instead. And I still use this song anytime am feeling down with the Almighty God 🙏 saying baby come to me, may the Almighty God 🙏 bless you all and please come to Yeshua he is waiting. In a way it was okay I did not get that hug because I would have shed a monsoon worth of tears that day, I just felt totally helpless and worthless that day it was horrible. I'm 37 and grew up on all this good music. Those type of people that made music like this is gone. Sadly! All the elders that was around that would play good music like this at the bbqs and reunion they have passed away and now its just a bunch a crappy ass music now that makes no sense. No love, no power, no empathy or compassion for people no more. In order to get those feels again we have to take a journey back in time and replay good music like this.

Classic singer and song. I didn't fully appreciate this lovely singer until now. almost 40 years later. This song is resonates in my mind of an era of great singers, black and white, male and female. Such diversity and variety but singers and the styles of how they sung so fantastic! There are still some new voices today that are trying to stand out but so few by comparison to the 80's and 70's.
