If you watch the movie and think about that era it'll make sense due to the fact that half of muslims were once street people or street mentality....Plus by Shareef hanging with them they had to respect him. I get what you're saying as far as the pages and only so much you can add to the script. I acted i. Some theater stageplays myself so I get that.

And that character just wasn't important to the story other than his death at the end. I'm sure anyone who the topic is more important to will say the backstory will make his death more impactful, and perhaps it would, but even with the deleted scenes we get on Blu Rays and DVDs we only see a fraction of the portion of the script that gets nixed along the way in the process. It's cost/benefit, and the character just wasn't important enough to spend more time on. Plus, the way Pac went about it was tone deaf. People don't just start trying to manipulate bigger roles during table readings. And Allan Hughes warned him a number of times, I understand. Now, Hughes was a moron for calling Pac a bitch, no doubt. He should have just said talk to me after, but stfu for now. Maybe he tried to say that, idk. Any way you cut it, Pac was way out of line.
