I'll be honest over 10 years ago when I watched the series I was like whatt a good show, watching this again as an adult gave a whole different feeling. This season was one of my favorites, How Mordecai was feeling was valid he felt like his life wasn't going anywhere and he couldn't help but feel jealous of his best friend for moving past hurdles and becoming successful and eventually surpassing him. I remember feeling like my life wasn't going anywhere at some point when I compared myself to a friend I had who was being promoted to a manager at a young age, was living alone, and attending school full time. Watching regular show as an adult hits differently, you'll realize the struggles the characters deal with in each season becomes more realistic and important. I know many people criticize Mordecai and yah he was never the best character but when people are young they tend to be immature and insecure, I'd like to say as the series progresses he realized how he was acting towards Rigby and changes, and when they finally went their separate ways they grew individually.

Why was Mordecai so upset?

He was jealous of how quickly Rigby started to turn his life around. At this point Rigby has a steady girlfriend, and is graduating high school, and Mordecai pretty much fumbled with both Margaret and CJ and has nothing going on except for his dead end job. This scene is just after Rigby called him for help and he got annoyed and told him to "play a sad song, and figure it out." and hung up on him.

Probably because he still mad at rigby for change his college letters and his future was robbed by rigby

Mordecai was never really a good person, he took pride in being superior to Rigby, but Rigby over the show has become a better person, and Mordecai always has self destructive traits. Mordecai is the person our parents told us not to be.
