that wasnt CG they used crocodile DNA to breed real dragons in a lab.... it was exposed in a documentary....

Agree with you. I think it is because some movies come out at wrong time, and the theater is swamped with winners. So, even a very good movie might not perform well when a new Star Wars comes out.

These kinds of movies need a great monster in order to succeed. Conventional dragons just doesn't work for this kind of concept. People were laughing at the trailer in the theaters when it just turned out to be dragons.

This trailer will always stick with me for that clip of McConaughey flying through the air with an axe. I was so hyped only to get to that part of the movie and see my guy soar straight into the dragon's mouth 😂

I remember going to the cinema with my parents to see this movie, and I can only remember the first scene where the guy comes out and bites a tomato, and I asked my dad "why he bites it? tomatoes alone aren't that yummy"

Watched the film multiple times and I had the game on ps2 as well. Both completely brilliant and the fact you got to play as a dragon on the ps2 game was pretty epic.

There are good movies, bad movies, and the there are frustrating movies, flawed ones with a potential for greatness. Reign of Fire and Alien 3 are in that category.

Why does this trailer say "2084" in the beginning. The film starts in the early 2000s... the newspaper montage clearly shows an article about the dragons dated '2008'... and then the date stamp that appears when Christian Bale finally shows up says '2020'. Where the fk did 2084 come from?

@@caprt8977 I watched it months ago. Great movie besides the ever changing beard on the American character. It changed every scene. Stubble to full to patchy wig, etc.

@@CameronKiesser...i thought that at first... But i have this movie downloaded and watched it with slow-mo in a few scenes. It is just his light colored hair and thin hair growth that make it look like that in certain lighting. There isa a scene where you can see one side of grown out and shaggy looking while the other side looks almost non existent. Its just a trick of the lighting on his hair.

They should've used the Johnny Cash song "Ring of Fire" for this trailer, TV spots and the actual film due to the name of the song is sometimes misheard as "Reign of Fire".

This is nothing like that year! This would be like a global nuclear war. But instead of nukes, it's millions of fire breathing scaly beasts trying to kill us all. Better it's a virus that is easily spreadable but kills a small percentage of the ones who contract it. Not being quickly scorched to death by dragons.

I would love to see a season or two about the daily lives and occasional dragon attack with the creativity and ideas of what is needed to survive and all the other ideas that may or may not have worked Even a little communication from survivors around the world in different groups sharing info and the one by one go silent over time. A season of how one group survives...then the next season on VanZant becoming who we see in the movie and then a season of them getting over seas and then wrap that up with them driving up to the castle. Then we go watch the movie from that point on :)

Yeah that is the one thing that bugged me about he story plot line....we fought them with our most powerful weapons....and they still won. Yet a harpoon can bring one down. You mean to tell me an A-10 Warthog with its cannon, an F15 fighter with its cannon, Cobra Helicopter and its cannon, Apache Helicopter and its cannon, or any thing similar from any other country couldn't keep these things at bay. Complete bs and they had to gloss over it to hide that fact. Other than that...I loved the movie.

Well, God hasn't helped them so far...so when in doubt...have faith in yourself and survive. And that is a prayer to drill into the mind so we never forget how to Keep one eye on the sky and learn to dig hard and dig deep and persevere any way you can.

@@heathb4319 You know we suck right? We repeat mistakes, we ruin ourselves with addictions and lust and self destruction. Trust ourselves? No way. Since God made us and He made us to love, doesn't it stand to reason that He loves as well, and far more perfectly? Whenever we're in danger or hurt He hurts along with us. He lets bad things happen for a reason; we have to trust He knows what He's doing and we don't. Who do you think brought those soldiers to the main character? Who do you think helped him figure out how to survive? How to fight the dragons in the end? God never abandoned Him, He works everything out in the right moment in the right time. Trust is not believing that everything will turn out the way we think it should, trust is believing we'll be okay no matter what happens and God is taking care of us. As long as you haven't lost your soul at the end of your life everything will be just fine.

This could never be a true story. T-Rex we're not able to have the a ability to teleport. Unless it mutated into a caveman... I like this movie.. That is close to the Jurassic World.. Only a T-Rex would survive in this climate. And they would be fire breathing dragons. Something similar to this. Fictional movie..
