Coco, your speech is touching and motivating at the same time. Perseverance is, actually, what most of the times is missing for our dreams to come to a realisation, and this speech makes this point loud and clear.

Mudher.... you are the perfect example of a young man who took Dyslexia to a whole new level. By developing your passion for baking brownies you increased my weight while reducing your anxiety as you journeyed towards that dream to reshape the future of flight engineering and hopefully that of Emirates Airlines 💜

Thanks for sharing your perspective on re-imagining the future! I would like to focus on one aspect of your talk that truly spoke to me. I love what you said about sharing your dreams! People often worry about having their dreams stolen. Not only, as you stated, does nobody have your story, but knowledge alone holds little to no value. There is a saying I have often heard that I feel couldn’t be more inaccurate: Knowledge is power. Allow me to explain. When I was is in academia, my entire world was about information sharing. Naturally, the idea was to both give and receive alternate viewpoints on any given topic. However, once I entered the “real” world, I quickly realized that the focus was on information hoarding. The belief was that someone had an advantage over others if s/he had information that another person did not have. Well, this is ridiculous. The mere existence of information in one’s head is no more powerful than surgical equipment being wielded by an untrained hand. So, knowledge is NOT power, but rather the utilization of knowledge that IS power. I have always shared every bit of knowledge that anyone has asked me to share. Why? Because I know that this will never put me at a disadvantage. I will always come out on top because I am confident that I will find ways of using that information not dreamed about by anyone else. So, to your viewers and your students, I say share early and share often. You will be giving yourself the opportunity to hear others’ thoughts that may lead you to actions you had not previously considered, which can ultimately accelerate the achievement of your dreams.
