Completely. No set up whatsoever on the outer reap (o soto gari). Off balancing himself in the process and leaving himself open to counterattacks. Looked like an amateur

Anatoly is just too strong, too explosive for RDR. Too technically superior at striking too. It went to a mismatch. RDR was wrecked.

I trained at the same gym as Anatoly in Phuket when he was wrestling. I asked him why he doesnt wrestle in MMA, and he replied that fans want to see KO not 2 minute submission. He would have defeated Reinier on the ground too.

I'm Derider fan, never missed any of his fights. This time I'm actually glad Derider lost. Derider was beginning to get cocky & this loss is exactly what he needs. Derider needed this lesson on humanity & humbleness! Malykan is a butcher & is not going to give up the belt easily. Its going to be very interesting to watch Maylakin defend the belt.

Малыхин сделал то, что неудалось Бигдашу. Де Риддер очень хорош на земле, а не в стойке. Малыхин не дал ему себя повалить несколько раз подряд и прямо видно, как Де Риддер теряется после первых трех минут. Понимая, что в стойке ему Малыхина не перебить, а положтть его не получается. Он будто смирился, что не победит и надеялся просто достоять раунд, но не удалось)

a top rate heavyweight wrestler who have superb striking was just too much for one dimensional rdr... Rdr was actually landing punches as well tho. But malykhin has been taking heavyweight punches all his life so rdr punches probably felt like tickles

That was like scripted fight scenes in action movies. The way anatoly came up with a strong plan against a ground fight monster like Reiner is quite impressive his style, defenses against wrestling movements and counter attacks are well planned. No fighters would be that easy to stand against Reiner. Anatoly for real have a good fight iq as how he made the plans. much fun to watch

The ref really didn't need to wait till RDR was unconscious. None of those shots on the ground were necessary, he was done when he first hit the ground. Even the guys at ringside knew, they rang the bell seconds before the ref stopped it.

exactly, when you got a great boxer who can defend takedowns and juijitsu techniques, against a guy who obviously has never been in a fist fight before... it's obvious who is going to win and it was about time someone wipe the smug face of De Ridder. BJJ has some of the most innovative moves in the fighting game, can be very entertaining if you know what youre looking at. Kinda ridiculous to expect a stand-up fightstyle in MMA when you have multiple different stand-up disciplines like Muay Thai, Kickboxing, boxing etc.

Derider has poor skills on the feet. It's not even decent to the point where he can use his striking to set up his take downs. He never improved his striking and I don't think he plans on doing it. He is tall and has long reach. If he only knows how to use his height and reach, even without knock out power, he could frustrate guys on their feet. His game plan is really just take the fight to the ground and abandon other skills needed to be a complete mma fighter. The other guy knew this and trained for it. You can see he was drilled to defend take downs and he was closing the distance with ease.
