A couple things I noticed not mentioned in the video: 1.A stack of flowberries along with a shockwave grenade or two is one of the fastest ways to rotate and get shield at the same time. 2. You can ride the lights outside of some of the mansions like the rails in the city from the previous chapter. 3. there are some walls you can mantle like you can with builds that aren't player made, but I haven't figured out the criteria for that yet (edit: I've since noticed they have to have wooden beams like player walls, and tend to be mostly on 1x1 structures like clock towers). 4. Most have probably realized this already, but building while on a train causes the build to be left behind as the train moves, hence there's barely any point in placing walls or any other building on trains as far as I can tell. If anyone knows a better way to defend during a fight on a train than with the ballistic shield assuming you have one, I'd really like to hear it. 5. It's very easy to get hit while using the grapple blade, so if you're using it to attack, it should only be when you have the health advantage to finish off your opponent. 6. The grapple blade causes you to ricochet off whatever you collide with at an angle dependent on the angle you hit the object with and the shape of said object, so you can grapple to a tree at an angle such that it bounces you a bit in some direction (edit: this can be further controlled by how you position your left stick/mouse as you're grappling). This lets your movement be far less predictable in circumstances where thare are things to mantle on near what you grapple towards. (edite: A couple things I've found since OP) 7. Using the grapple blade as a melee weapon can be very effective since it has knockback that can kill with fall damage, does decent dps if the enemy is cornered, and has no cost such as ammo or charge. 8. Holding jump while grappling results in a different interaction with what you grapple into and can easily make you fall. Waiting until you collide and then holding jump to mantle after is far more consistent.

@@stinkydooberYeah, I realized that a couple days ago. I wish it were easier to predict on which structures you'll find them though. They seem to be on clock towers and other similar 1x1 structures, but for the most part you just have to memorize which parts of the map have them if you're going to use them as a key part of your fighting style.

I find the ballistic shield insanely powerful for zero build as when someone has a sniper you won't take any damage from it and honestly snipers this season are just utterly insane.

facts. the shield is OP. And the amount of times ive been one shot by snipers is like never before its actually silly af. Ive even been one shot while rifting, grapple blading, flying through the air from a shockwave, out of the car or bike, and plenty of other seemingly crazy shots on a regular occurance to the point it gets frustrating at times like everyone has aimbot and doesnt miss or something haha

The storm only does 1 tick for most of the game, 2 zones before first moving is when it ramps up to a 2 tic and first moving is when I starts a 5 tick meaning you can storm camp with ease. If you have a medallion you can take med kits instead of minis or shields

It isn't slow though. I spend maybe 2 hours at most a day just pissing around on fortnite and I'm level 250. Not to mention the fact that I didn't play fortnite for an entire month because I was on holiday. Leveling up isn't hard in this season, it's actually too easy

The only thing that I have to say about the loadout is that if your in zero build I recommend having a frenzy shotgun rather than the hammer pump as it’s too slow and is difficult to find cover

ive noticed on kbm if u play past like 65 ish diagonal angle and go to a creative map with an old pump or some weapon that gives u old animations u dont instantly strafe the other way u stop for like half a second which is really weird

I haven’t seen this mentioned yet, so i’ll say it. In the little while that i’ve played, i’m pretty sure you can shoot a persons toes that has a riot shield.

You can def get around the riot shield, but it's still pretty OP in the right hands. I've won countless fights without even buliding just by using it carefully to ram structures and angling carefully to block enemy shots.

And the crouch is just insanely slow, as mentioned in the vid. I'm also not crazy about how easy it is to accidentally mantle onto your own builds during buildfights, so I hope they find a way to make that less sensitive as they did with hurtling.

If they fix the junky feeling of movement, this season will be really good! The map is really cozy and the guns are fun, of course no season will beat the feeling of the og season but if og didn’t exist this is one of the best seasons

I usually run pump, Hyper SMG (red-dot), Striker AR or sniper (ACOG), heals, mobility. SMGs tear through cover and enemy alike, and the Hyper feels hella good this season. Close-range, you don't need to scope-in and it has good grouping for the first half of the mag. Mid-range, with an optic, the thing can ping enemies a lot, in my experience. Even with just a few tags after you land a good sniper shot or if you run out of AR shots, I get a lot of value having it slotted.

Season is not bad. However it could be so much better. It also is seeming to feel a bit like an animated pubg. Wouldn’t be surprised if they made you pick up armour next season instead of shields. Even with that said the season just started so there’s still hope. Hopefully they will fix some things like the walking when building.

@@connor7296There are some great changes, namely map changes and movement (once you change some settings) but weapons no longer being hitscan, and the hyper-changed first person ADS models make this season feel super weird and clunky, and the UI changes are more than unnecessary.

@@Yetha148 I'm 37 (basically a dinosaur, I know), yet I outbuild most opponents up through platinum 2 rank, so there's no excuse really :P I do find the tendency to accidentally mantle while building a bit annoying though, so I wish there were a different bind for mantling while building versus mantling on structure that are already built, but that's probably tricky to get just right. Also, the UI for the locker presets sucks now and is confusing. I see what they were trying to do with connecting each preset to each wrapper, glider, etc. so you can search them more easily, but it took me way too long to figure out how to swap presets quickly and not change other things. Also, they seem to have taken away the randomizer for switching presets between games, so if you want to play with a different preset, you have to go back to the lobby each time.

For snipers, the 2px optic doesn’t give sniper glint, so you get a better zoom. Other than that I usually use angled grip, suppressor, and speed mag
