I visited Podium Place for a Gassed Gang meet hosted by KZfaqr @officially_gassed and captured the cars, mostly BMWs, arriving. However due to limited space, the hosts had to reserve a few for certain cars, which seemed to anger one S15 in particular!

@@ghuldorgrey They wont mate, if anything they will become more common. They will become solely a leisure thing. We still have horses and horse racing, even though motorbikes are more common, cheaper and faster. They also keep pushing the ban date back, OEMs will also stockpile and pre-reg ICE cars so they will be available well past the ban date. Engines will never die, they are too visceral, too much emotional. That being said, we are getting Labour next, Labour supporters are not car guys. They will do as much damage as they can while they have power.

@@lewis1197 yep, they sound terrible. Btw, I've got a supercharged civic si with stock exhaust, love that it doesn't attract attention. I can't stand obnoxious pops and bangs. The cars tuned to do it non stop on decel (overrun) are the worst. It also means they likely aren't running a cat, so they're obnoxious to be behind on the road since they stink like exhaust fumes.

Not only do they sound bad, they all sound the same. It's as if all of them work out what the loudest possible exhaust set up is and then they all get it, none of them ever seem to think "hmm, i prefer the sound of that set up, so i'll get that" they just think "what does everyone else have? ok, i'll get that"

Yeah decibel is a logarithmic scale. That means that every 10dB higher is 10 TIMES louder. Exposure to 160dB even instantaneously, will burst your eardrums! 194dB is the literal maximum. After that the air molecules between your ear and the source are pushed in one direction and can't move back and forth (necessary to create a wave for sound to exist), becoming a shockwave instead. 200dB is just nonsense.

I like to think, and i have absolutely no proof for this, that they're the cars Ford guys move onto. My thinking is that so often if you hear an obnoxiously loud car with a pop and bang map on it, nine times out of ten it'll be a ford or a BMW.

Mind you I don't think there's many new Ford I would consider buying 😂 get to the Puma and Streetka, the Mk2 Mondeo was a shed, the one with the sharpened edges and circles in the rear lights was okay, they've only gone wrong since except the Transit and one of the smaller vans, I don't even pay attention to what they are nowadays 😂 they just stopped the Fiesta, be fair, the Fiesta died at Mk4 😂

I think a lot of people don't realise decibel is a logarithmic scale so every 10dB increase is 10 TIMES louder. To be 200dB (assuming we just ignore the physics of a 194dB limit) that car's exhaust would have to 20 TIMES LOUDER THAN A ROCKET LAUNCH.

Watching this makes me glad I’m older and don’t go to this sort of meet anymore When you’ve heard one pop bang map you’ve heard them all It’s all a bit boring all the cars are the same take on the one idea which on its own isn’t bad but a massive group of sameness isn’t I never thought I would ever say the old max power days were better but I feel it was and back then nobody could insure a car with any power so all the mods were in styling so much more “individual “

Im so gutted i couldnt make this, especially missing yourself! A good 3, hour trek but i was willing to do it. Just got s lot of overtime needed doing to get the car running right.... These pop and bang maps need to stop, I don't understand why people find it impressive, its no more impressive than an EV playing sounds through a speaker. They are fabricated and not real, they are essentially programmed. I love nice sounding cars but its not a nice sound, its just noise. Also that whole blocking the road off thing is so cringe.

I can't help but feel that if BMW's are banned from meets then that would solve 90% of the problems. I like BMW's but there are too many of them on the scene and they all want to go to meets. As a result the chances of them being overly loud or driven by bellends, is higher than for other cars.

No orders on what to allow in as such, space was reserved for the officially gassed guys, as for other cars, it’s a case of when space on-site becomes available he would let people in.

Not only is blocking both lanes of a public road beyond idiotic, it wasn't even for a decent picture, it was just two rows of pretty basic looking BMWs, most of them were boring colours, nothing was paticularly special or stand out about any of them. It's just as dumb, but at least when the numpties do it in America it's for a line up of various super and hyper cars.
