Changing locations is part of the 'fun' of these particular locations. It's not necessarily out of necessity.

You have to wonder if the owners of the back-firing cars think their cars are legal, why do they stop revving when the Police turn up. I stopped going to these sorts of meets a few years ago when it as all getting a bit out of hand. A real shame, as I've always been a petrolhead.. I predicted the Police thing would happen, a couple of years ago and it is going to get worse. We are now getting microphones installed in camera locations on the road, to catch loud exhausts. Probably the next thing will be to seize these cars, and put them through a mandatory MOT test. Then check with the insurance company to find out if they know of all the modifications done to the cars. Probably 6 points and big fines all round then. Sad days. People just tone it down a little please, then we can carry on having decent car meets and the Police will leave everyone alone.

@@MrDanchurch Well I don't personally have an "issue", I said I "do not understand the enjoyment". If I was a nearby resident or shopper then the constant loud banging would be annoying. I cba watching the video back again but I remember it having no drifting in it, it was mostly static but with constant very loud banging.

@@rkl233 I subscribe to a bunch of channels purely for engine noise, such as the legendary 19bozzy92. He doesn't upload 2 hour videos of cars going "bang bang bang bang bang bang bang bang" though because they're unenjoyable and repetitive. A WW2 plane going past is a completely different prospect. I assume you go to concerts to listen to music and not the drummer just repeatedly hitting the snare?

I agree. I remember when it was the odd one or two people annoying everyone with loud bangs, now it seems every other car there can do it. It sounds toss.

Personally, i've always thought cars in motion sound far better than static revving, but that can be ok if the car sounds good or they don't overdo the revving. These cars at most meets just bang it off the limiter constantly and all the pops just sound so crap.

I agree. Also they make so much noise that u can't even hear your own thoughts, not to mention talking with someone, which also makes this completely stupid for me. When i think of car meets, i think about people showing their cars and just chilling, not this absolute mess lol.

Agree 100% Occasionally you hear a big old Yank tank and it puts the crappy little fart box hatchbacks into perspective. A wonderful old Ford 4 cylinder can sound brilliant (Pinto engines with big carbs), but pops and bangs maps are like Mr Kiplings cakes. Add tons of sugar to 'make them tastier' Some people prefer the pure taste of sugar I guess, some of us prefer flavour.

I give mine a few revs at meets because its got the glorious V8 sound. But I don't do it in an enclosed space, it's just a bad idea...

Owners aren't the issue, its when they call the police who then start chucking section 59 warnings out to all the ones drifting and making a nuisance of themselves which makes them all leg it. Some will probably already have a 59 which lasts 12 months so they won't want to be around when the police show up as its a vehicle seizure if caught.

I can only assume our car parks etc are all to spec for older cars from when they were originally built and these specs have never been updated so all new ones are built to the same old spec. Then again modern cars are so huge its almost comical.

@@thunderbug8640 Thats what I thought.Most modern cities Japan as an example the carparks are massive with plenty of parking room next to each car. Same with old garages built for the smaller vehicle.

Most car parks in the UK were created in the 70s and so the specifications are for the most common cars of the time. And it's just never been updated

I film all parts of the UK car scene, and being obsessed with cars I will always have a lean towards any car event I'm at.

How about finding a better spot? Making a parking garage sound like the center of a warzone isn't really welcomed by the public.
