Al-`Abbas said: When Abu Lahab died, I saw him in my dream after some time, in an evil state. He said to me, “I have not received any rest since your passing, except that the punishment is lightened for me every Monday.” This is because the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, was born on a Monday. The servant girl Thuwaibah gave Abu Lahab the glad tidings of his birth, and in response to this, Abu Lahab freed her.
