this is such an incredibly stupid comment. tragedy and trauma are never sought after nor should it be promoted to help instill gratitude in ppl. Why would they be grateful after trauma? It's probably harder to feel positive emotions.

@@edwardmm737 I was just saying something like this to my friend the other day about not caring what people think to an extent because to a degree it helps keep us in integrity. Although, God/the universe/your higher self sees everything regardless of whether anyone else sees, so that's the most important one to consider, I think anyway. Others opinions are not necessary if you look at it that way to be honest. Pressure to be a certain way depending on how others want to perceive us can be limiting I think. Limiting to change because changing might not always feel comfortable to those around us. The whole pandemic thing comes to mind because I know I went against a lot of people in my community and I'm so glad I didn't allow that to affect my choices. There can be a lot of people in your life who think they know what's best for you, and even mean well, but they can be wrong.

Excellent content as always Dr. Peterson. Married for 15yrs together for much more, and there is a lot to be said for constantly rediscovering one another. For not pidgeon-holing the other as a static being, but rather finding excitement and fascination with the everchanging landscape of your spouse's mind, body and soul. There is nothing more beautiful than love when observed over the scope of time's vicissitudes.

And we do not display aspects of ourselves that would *contradict or confuse* that established outer persona." ^ failing to integrate the persona with the self is a fundamental form of confusion. They do not get to choose this, it is a reflex that protects them in some ways but can be highly maladaptive. This inbuilt desire to seek protection is highly beneficial to a human being. This is their choice that is unconsciously made in the midst of their confusion. This choice is not unchangeable, per se, but many would claim naivety to maintain that protection indefinitely.

We have five kiddos and we used to be great about once a week date night but with one graduated and another graduating, 3 on the spectrum (you may not pick it out immediately but 3 are as am I) and then I had a couple back surgeries, our son was in a bad wrestling accident (they thought he broke his neck), then our youngest son was in a GoKart accident last month and was airlifted to the hospital (God put him in a bubble!!!! Just horrible bruised and road rash. His helmet flew off before he hit the pavement and then big brother ran him over. At least they laugh about it!) and then our oldest just moved up to Washington for her summer farming internship, my husband is starting 3 new companies while running another and so we have felt very disconnected. I’m just about finish a new video for my own channel on this subject. So, for me, this is a timely video to watch. My video focuses on clarifying a positive vision of the future within the scope of previously defined values, a healthy intimate relationship being one of them, presumably. When you write a vision like this, on one level of analysis, you are simply fantasising. But instead of that fantasy being incoherent and spontaneous, it’s orderly and intentionally created. But perhaps the most important part of this is that the vision, is that it’s within and in alignment with your values. Meaning, the fantasy is with and includes your current partner (as Dr Peterson stated), not some magical portrayal of another person you barely know, that you’ve conjured up in your mind, while distracted. Make your fantasies intentional, don’t let your mind be captured by your demons.

Well, I guess it only stands to reason that consciousness experts would make the best romantic partners. I mean, romantic love is about engaging and sharing all your senses so it makes perfect... sense… This is the point where humans can go profoundly right or profoundly wrong because scripture tells us - its just like God to define it so - monogamy is the best way as anything else degrades the beauty of sharing all of one’s senses with another and corrupts the experience into a sin of sensuality. Sexual immorality opens you up to everything that other person you sleep with is also open to - and God only knows what doors they have open! - the conscience is certainly affected negatively here. The senses apparently are so important to keeping the conscience clear that there is only one other person, preferable even by God, that we should ever open all of our senses to, that one being our covenantal spouse. Pretty amazing God, I would say🔥 Jesus was the greatest romantic of all, He IS the Song of all songs! He’s peering through the lattice of our hearts and here we are tucked away in our beds sleeping, waiting for him to come to us, enduring the suffering, and he shows up drenched with the night, longing to be let in to our hearts, to open the door of our hearts (our consciousness perhaps?) to him. But instead, we dither about thinking through everything and finally when we excitedly make it to the door to open to his knocking, he’s gone! We run after him out into the streets bearing the ridicule, being mercilessly persecuted yet he’s run away and hidden himself from us, desperate as we are. But He understands the human creation He has made in His image:) Thank God at some point there’s a tale of strong towers, gazelles, raisin cakes and spices! But let’s not get too into the Master of our senses in a KZfaq channel commentary section, ha. One last thought I will share, though not in plain speak, there’s a world of difference in setting a fire in a fireplace with carefully hewn logs and a finite span of fuel, and setting the same fire in a forest of trees. Please think carefully about this. Thanks for this amazing conversation. I have Tor's book though it's intimidating - I'm pretty sure I don't have the education level to fully understand it~

Surely you want relationship advice from relationship experts not people who know why science is a nasty con..... Don't be a slave, relationships are easy if they're right. If they're not then it's an attempt to make you a submitting subject. People who shout at you or say 'if you love me you'll do it' 😂 are not your friend. Real eyes the truth 😉👍

Expert of what ? 🤨 What is conscience ? Where is the conscience ? What is conscience made of ? Is conscience physical or metaphysical ? What is the genealogy of conscience ? ✌🏾

Am I the only one that finds it a bit humorous and a bit discrediting that a Norwegian is giving “expert advice” on relationships?
