Күн бұрынYes shacking up before marriage is a big NO NO!! However, I did it and learned from my lesson. I am here to share with you how I viewed shacking up before vs how I view it now. Honestly, each of us know that we shouldn’t, but we allow life circumstances and our own personal desires to override Gods word.
If you are someone who has encountered this or is currently thinking about moving in with your boyfriend… I pray you ask yourself first is God truly calling you to that? I know these are difficult situations, but do not take a detour. They are no fun, but stand firm and walk out what God is calling of you.
I pray this message falls on good fertile soil and you to can also share this message with others!!!

Yes! I love this. I feel so free since I decided to be celibate. The pressure is off and I agree that we were starting to play house and it was work! I want to look forward to the after marriage life. I was tormented and now, today I am relieved.

I know the inner conviction inside. Once I moved out I realized the amount of peace I had been lacking. Prayers Sweetie God loves you so much and He is still with you!

My boyfriend and I have lived together for about a year and we are practicing abstinence and we have talked about marriage and plan to marry but I’ve honestly never thought about this but I can understand this. We were having sex before but once we began our journey together with Christ we stopped.

Amen. Me and my ex husband shacked for a month before we got married and it wasn't right. God revealed him before we married and I still married him. We stayed married for 20 yrs and did not have peace. the best thing that ever came out of our marriage was our daughters......

I agree there are great points against shacking up. But I've met people that have rushed into marriage (like they were only dating for months or a year). Like people need to relax and really analyze their significant other and see if they would be a good spouse before they get married. And, the reason they rush into marriage is because they don't want to "shack up" or have "premarital sex" even though some are but want to look pure in front of society. Just my opinion.

If people are choosing to live for Christ it literally does not matter what the world is doing AT ALL. You’re living for the world or God “Choose ye this day which God you will serve”. No one ever said the walk along side God would be easy but it is definitely worth it! If God does not bless the union or the home I’m telling you, there will be a world of pain and restless nights to follow. There is a reason why living separately and waiting is good because God is growing two individuals with predestined PURPOSES on his time. And once he feels the destiny is being followed throughly he will bring a partner who aligns to that purpose so you’re not distracted or being delayed by a partner that God did not choose for you. WAITING altogether is key because God knows we love the people we are with but we CAN NOT love them more than him. Wait and put no man before him and he will take care of the rest. Sin will NEVER be blessed I don’t care how good it look to others when God is not pleased DONT you’re walking on a VERY thinnnnnn line.No excuse frfr…none.

People get married quickly because they already know that the other person is exactly what they are looking for. When you know you don't need to date for years before you get married it is obvious to you. When people date for a long time it is because they are unsure and they are just compromising and settling to be with each other which is not a good sign.

Everyone always says it'll put them closer to marriage by shacking up first. I don't get why ppl try to justify shacking up. I have heard it all where sometimes they get married within a year or less bcuz of a child is born and they throw it up in your face bcuz they are with their man all the time and a person like me is doing things differently by not shacking up. But a lot of ppl think that backwards is right and they have a great family before marriage smh. All of my relatives have shacked up before marriage except for one person. Some marriages worked some didn't, it's a big risk. Have you heard of this? & I agree with you on dating with a purpose, get married then move in with that person. I'm being obedient and why does God bless those that are disobedient to shack up and live in luxury places better than a person that's not shacking ? Please tell me what you think on this?

this is currently what i’m experiencing because at first it was feeing good but then all hell broke lose and had to call it out rushed it too soon and i kept ignoring it 🤯 i’m still in the same apartment but other person moved out . I expressed we need to be married first before living together and ever since God has been moving mightily in my life

Exactly, and when they are only dating your significant other might not show their true colors. Also, since some people get married like 5 months when dating and they don't even know the person. Like my cousin he was desperate for marriage and they married like months later and their marriage is dysfunctional.

Me and my ex had this same disagreement and broke up recently. I just don't see the point in being in a serious relationship where one party is pushing for marriage but wants to stay in separate households. You won't know a person until you've live with them so how can you truly know if you're going to truly be happy with that person after marriage if you haven't experienced living with them before marriage?

Why do you need to live with them to figure out who they are as a person? Why can you not ask questions and be observant? And why are you desperate to play husband/wife to someone who has not even made any real commitment to you? Boyfriend and girlfriend doesn't mean anything. Shacking up before marriage benefits the man way more than the woman who ends up doing domestic work like a slave for a dude who hasn't even married her.

@@la6136 -Because people can put on a front while you're together and be a whole different person behind your back. When you live with someone you get to see their true side and their habits. I would also like to see how my partner would act if I was to fall in rough times or see how my partner would react if we are on rocky turns together. Those tests are what I would want to see my partner handle before I consider her a wife. -The commitment supposed to be established during the courting stage. If one partner believes that a boyfriend/girlfriend title doesn't hold weight then how would you continue that belief into a marriage? - Tbh your insecurities are showing at this point lol why assume that your partner wouldn't be committed? Do you have trust issues? Anywho, I disagree. A man has to do work around the house just like a woman. That's apart of being a responsible adult. You clean the house and cook the food while the bf cuts the grass, fix stuff around the house, and continue to provide and protect you. I don't understand how you would think those things are slave work when those are your responsibilities to do anyway as a adult. You have to work together with your partner as a team to keep a roof over your heads.

I agree with this on both sides. I want to get married, but I’d like to see how it is living with that person first. Nowadays, you have to try on shoes before you buy them. Now I will say this, I don’t want kids and I think it’s sad to see people pop out baby after baby with people they aren’t married to. That I couldn’t do!

As a young man who grew up in the late 70s,80s and the 90s I'm the product of a broken crappy marriage!!! I stopped believing in that lie called marriage, I don't believe in living together or having kids. Not getting married and not having kids and not living together is the smartest move. This is the only way to keep your money, assets and sanity!!! I have A whole piece of a mind and sanity!!!
