Like most panic attacks mine are over something and nothing. I am one of the millions who find socialising on general and especially thosr 'fun' social events stressful. Especially those connected with work rathet than family and close friends. My panic attack triggers are those sort of office parties where sane adults start wearing paper hats and throwing streamers. I have no warning. Just entering a dining room and seeing balloons and streamers kicks it off. Next I know I am outside, gasping for breath. I have treated this by just not going. Some mental health and Social work training sessions involve this sort of activity as well. I spoke up at one as it had been noticed that I had not joined the group in running down the room shouting and waving my arms in the air. Why on earth would I? We were a group of about 12. 4 or 5 others were emboldened to say they found this type of thing unpleasant as well. 1st time I realised that this is common.

Every time I have a break and have to go to school, I feel like I can’t breathe, like someone is putting something heavy on my chest and it just hurts physically and mentally. What hurts the most is when people are telling you “ it’s only school, it’s not important, you are being such a drama queen “ but it’s not, every time you want to stop people are constantly in your back and tell you it is soooooo important. Just, don’t say anything and stay by my side. My mind is already flowing with those kind of thought by itself, it does not need more problems. I’m sorry if this is long and/or annoying, but I just feel like i’m so much more lighter... anyway the video is great 👍

How you cure panic attack please tell me.. I have breathing difficulty due to panic attack.
@maryseitz55533 жыл бұрын
Whenever someone asks me what a panic attack feels like, I honestly can't describe it to them. My breathing quickens and I feel very very hot, which are normal things. But I cannot explain how it makes me feel like I am dying and my negative thoughts take over. It's almost like my panic attacks erase all of the coping strategies that I have learned in my anxiety journey. Even though this video is very basic and simple, it's truly been a life saver for me. At first, I didn't find it helpful, but after turning to it a lot, my body became used to seeing it as a symbol to calm down. Since it's worked ever since, seeing those shapes gives my brain a sense of calm and reassurance that everything will be okay. So thank you, for posting this. And if you are reading this during, before, or after a panic attack, I have something for you. Wherever you are, hold out your hand. Close your hand into a loose fist. I am holding your hand. We are in this together. You will get through this, no matter how horrible it feels, no matter how tired you are, no matter how many panic attacks you've had, you will get through this one. I believe in you.

Well not gonna lie, 3 years later I’m sitting inside the bathroom doing the same thing, what helps me best with my phobia is knowing that most of the anxiety I’m feeling is in my head and that with the right techniques things will eventually fade. I’m still having panic attacks on the regular but I did get diagnosed with a panic disorder and am now on medication. Thing have been better but with enough time I’ll get there. It’s a journey but things like this video are getting me through it. For dealing with the phobia, stay away from any media with it and try to keep stories and talk of it out of conversation, I swear hearing anything about it flairs the panic lol just try not to lead your mind to anything surrounding it or associated and don’t drink while under a bad mindset, that leads to disaster in my experience. Probably over sharing but hopefully I helped ya in a way

This is really helpful :) I come back to this video every time I’m panicking. I do wish it wasn’t monetized though because the ads are often super jarring when I’m having a panic attack and trying to calm myself down....

I’ve got a stomach bug right now, but this video every hour is really helping. Especially using the shapes as instructions on inhaling and exhaling

I came here because I was talking about my teachers bathroom and my mic was on and everybody heard everything and I had major anxiety and my heart was racing and I had tears in my eyes even though I was not crying and I needed to calm down before I hurt myself.

Watching this in the middle of Covid19 Pandemic. Had been on home quarantine for 17 days already. Had cough today and my brain suddenly told me, I may have contacted the covid19 disease 😔 Now my heart is racing really fast and whenever I do my breathing exercises I feel like there's not enough air around me 😭
