So, you have no life outside of your baby and watching videos? And you still know how to speak to adults? I don’t believe you. I was isolated with my four children due to abuse around 2014 and had a HUGE issue with other adults. And cleaning? That’s what your life consists of, even during this nasty COVID shit? Surely there’s more to life?

Wow, I've seen a ton of cleaning videos, but this has to be the one I've enjoyed the most. You are so thorough in your explanations. I LOVE your cozy home, and the way you use color to make it so cheerful. I am in love with the back-splash in your kitchen, and I also love your dining chairs & table. The cutest part was when Chad was holding the baby who looks just like him. Great video!

I love my steam mop as well! I used tap for a long time, but our tap water here is very hard. It eventually created calcium deposits and clogged it up. You can run vinegar through your machine or I just use bottled or filtered water now. I haven’t run into a problem since. Hope this helps!

I do use distilled water for my mop because, over time, the mineral build up from tap water will clog the mop up.

Very true, Kendra Charnick...that happen to my clothes steamer. I didn't use distilled water because I had no idea that over time it would stopped working, and when I sent it in to the company to be fixed they found that the mineral build up from the tap water caused it to malfunction😣(so they didn't fix it)! I was super 😞sad because it worked so well and I never replaced it...;(Whomp.

@@KatKevaKelise I learned the hard way with other small appliances that utilize water. Calcium built up in them and it broke over time because, while the water is used up, the calcium does remain behind. I'm not the only one that's had this issue and I'd rather not ruin my steam mop. We have really hard water and it is what it is. 🤷‍♀️

I’m super jealous that you can walk. Don’t take it for granted. I stepped off my porch today and tore a ligament in my ankle and now I’m confined to a walker for the next week or so. You don’t realize how much you use an ability until you lose it.

My mom is in quarantaine in my house (so that my father and sister don't get sick too), so I have been staying at my parents house. And I tackle a room everyday, as a surprise for my mom, it has never been this organized!

If you put cold water in your rice pot and let it soak while you are cleaning the other dishes you will find it much easier to get the rice out of your pan. You are terrific, hope you and your family stay well.

I love watching your cleaning videos. So relaxing! I used to think the same thing & used regular water for my Shark mop but it ended up clogging it. I had my husband try to fix it but I ended up having to replace the whole mop. I now use distilled water only

Loved your video! Just a tip, after you vacuum the bathroom you can spray your vacuum bottom and roll with the seventh generation spray so that you aren’t spreading any potential bathroom germs around afterwards, it’s good to do even if you aren’t vacuuming a bathroom. You have a beautiful home !

I love your cleaning videos! Such good inspiration. Especially now when we are stuck at home. I had your cleaning playlist going on yesterday while I was doing some redecorating. I have a chair rail and it’s a light beige on top and it was dark beige on the bottom. Too much beige!!! So I painted the bottom white yesterday. And today I did a white wall collage with plants and mirrors and frames on the top part. Now onto cleaning!!!

Hi Alexandra, the distilled water is to help the longevity of the mop as the water leaves calcium and mineral deposits in the tubing kinda like what happens on your shower head if you don't clean it. Also you can use that mop over rugs to kill bacteria, just be careful that its truly vacuumed and dust free so it doesn't stain.

Definitely use distilled water for steam mops because the other water creates buildup from the minerals and all of that. Which will in time only make the mop less effective and eventually break.

Hey Alexandra I love your videos! Just wanted to let you know that the reason you're supposed to use distilled water for the steam mop is because regular tap water contains calcium which over time will clog the pipes in your appliance and that can lead to it not functioning properly anymore. You actually asked about the water spots on your sink a couple videos ago, those are also due to the calcium in your water, some areas have softer water (not as much calcium) and some have harder water that can cause a lot of annoying spots all over faucets and sinks. A good natural way to get rid of those is using a white vinegar solution in a spray bottle, and also drying the sink and faucet after cleaning them will prevent those marks from forming. So yeah I'd definitely recommend using distilled water to prevent damage to the mop. Stay healthy and safe, Forrest (hope I spelled that right) is absolutely adorable he is the cutest baby boy, God bless him ❤

I love your kitchen as always!! Those self closing cabinets are awesome!! 👍🏼 I just got that very similar shark steam mop & i did use distilled water for maintenance purpose since top water can get lime build up!! It’s $ .99 cents so it’s still way cheaper than buying floor cleaner!! If it’s really gonna keep my steam mop from lasting longer why not. 😜 this is indeed a relaxing cleaning motivation!! 👍🏼💕

I added a tad bit of Scentsy multi purpose cleaner in my steam mop to give a little extra cleansing and the smell is great. So far I haven't had an issue with it. After a couple uses, I run vinegar in it to keep from having build up. Has anyone else added anything to their steam mop? If so, did it mess anything up?

I have had my mop for about 10 years now and always use tap but ours isn't super hard tap water. I also add a few drops of lemon essential oil to mine every now and then for added disinfectant and smell!

I am on my second Shark steam mop. It really is important to (1) use only distilled water; and (2) drain any remaining water out when you are finished mopping. I learned the hard way as did a couple of my friends.

I’m a SAHM and our kiddos are home, until April 17th. They told us to expect them not to return, until fall. They helped me clean today (they are 6 & 7). We want them to learn responsibility and realize the house doesn’t clean itself lol. Keeping busy is key to staying sane🙈😂

Hey girl love you and your videos. Just wanted to know how the steam mop is working for you on your laminate floors? I have laminate floors and when I initially had my floors installed our floor installer told us not to use a steam mop on our floors as the moisture being released from the steam mop can ruin your laminate causing it to sponge up over time. Let me know thanks!
