A tranquil summer hike in the bog. Watching birds and butterflies. Hiking and relaxing, enjoying the sounds and cheerful life in nature in early summer. The binoculars are my old beloved Swarovski 8x42 EL.

Here's a video from summer that I seem to have forgotten. Better late than never :) Now in cold gloomy November it was pure pleasure finishing this one, remembering the sunny warm days in June so full of life! I hope you will enjoy it just as much! :)

Warmed me up on a chilly morning here in Tennessee, USA. It amazes me [a photo technology nerd] as to how accurate and clean your highlights are in your video. There is ZERO color banding in your blue skies, something I have to work carefully to avoid even with a 14 bit cinematic camera. Excellent work Erik, good to see you still at it.

Good evening from Alberta, Eric. Such a wonderful video!. Early this spring, I met an elderly gentleman at a conservation site just outside the city where I live. He told me that he changes his 500 mm lens to a macro lens and photographs butterflies and small insect species. I thought it was such a wonderful idea. After bird migration, it was exciting and invigorating to switch gears to butterflies, dragonflies, damselflies and there small insects. I even bought a beautiful book published by the museum on butterfly identification, as well as other paraphernalia to help in the process of identification. Have a wonderful autumn and thank you once again.

Between the seasons. Not enough snow to ski on, and too much slop to be comfortable walking. This was lovelier weather anyway! Nice to revisit spring and the beauty of that season--which you capture so well. The time for the snow will be here too soon, although that season has its beauty as well--and you capture that also!

That was so wonderful! I always love the attention to detail and quality of sound. My cat looks around for the birds, confused. We have many of the same plants and trees here on Haida Gwaii and I hope I can hike to one of the bogs next June. I saw some juniper as well. Many of these are strong medicines.

Was hoping to see more trips into the Swedish fjäll! Any reason for not hiking this summer? Your videos of the various fells up north have inspired me to consider a serious trek into Sarek sometime in the future. I live in Dalarna and have been to every mountaintop nearby that I can realistically get to over a weekend, outside of vacations. I'm constantly looking for new ideas. Norway is always an option of course but requires a lot of time and commitment for the the bigger peaks. So far I've been to Fulufjället many times, Idrefjäll, Grövelsjön a bunch of times, Vedungsfjällen, Helags, Sylarna, Femundsmarka, Rondane, Midtre Solen and Jotunheimen in Norway.

Hi Erik, we've been following you for a while now on your great YT channel and your YT trips and today this spring movie brings the following question to mind. How do you protect yourself against ticks on your trips into nature / wilderness ? and what camera do you actually use for your recordings. I am looking forward to your answer and future videos. Thank you & Best regards from Munich Gennaro
@erik_normark
@erik_normark Жыл бұрын
Thanks Gennaro. We are lucky not to have many ticks here, I have actually never seen one myself although they exist. It's more about to protect oneself from the mosquitos here :) The camera is a Nikon Z6 with a 24-200mm lens, and macro lenses.

hi Erik. my first thoughts after watching was...good old Erik Normark 😉😉 really really interesting film...i guess it wasnt easy to catch on tape all these small guys...especially when you have to use tripod 😉 im guessing you were using your 24-200 ? if so...this lens really is amazing
@erik_normark
@erik_normark Жыл бұрын
Hi Wojtek. I'm glad you liked it :) Yes it was the 24-200 most of the time here. When I use the crop mode in the Z6 camera I get really good magnification, and still in 4K resolution.
