Relaxed mine 2 days ago and I’m in love. 9 years of being natural and I’m 25 now with two little ones. My natural hair has been healthy and the. Breaking and then neglected because it was so much. People said don’t do it and I’ll regret it but I don’t. I got to experience my hair straight from the roots for 9 YEARS and I’m proud that I know what it’s like. Now that I sweat and will start working out I no longer fear for a poof and a wasted press. I can do hairstyles quicker and still be mommy without added stress.

I here you girl, natural hair is lots of work, I relaxed my 4c natural hair 2 weeks ago after rocking it for nine years and I am loving it. I remember spending an entire day on my natural hair, either on wash day routine or on protective styles.

Hey Dominique! Love your hair I feel like you are about to start a whole new healthy relaxed trend now. I love watching Ianna Yvonne and Hairlicious here on KZfaq for great relaxed tips. The main thing I learned for maintaining my relaxed hair is to deep condition more often before the hair gets brittle. I make sure to deep condition once a week and blow dry on low or air dry.. With your mom owning a salon y’all are going to have great tips too. I can’t wait to see more content for relaxed hair!

Your hair looks good, I dont know how you stayed away from the creamy crack for so long! But when you were applying I noticed you stayed away from the root just a bit too much, as you mentioned in the vid, you really didn't wanna feel that burn!! I totally understand that, but yeah, sometimes it does get to tingling, especially when you're in the salon and the stylist says "just a minute longer" !!

I relax my own hair, did a fresh one yesterday after 7 weeks of protective styling. Detangle with a wide tooth comb that day before you relax.

Great video! I’m going to make an appointment to get a relaxer on my hair as well. I’ve been contemplating doing it for a while now. It is just too hard for me to manage wearing it natural and I more often than not wear wigs as a protective style. Your hair turned out really beautiful! I have considered relaxing my 6 years natural hair, but before I went natural I had lost a lot of density and it was on the thinner side. Now it is really dense. I just worry that it only appears dense because of the texture and if I relax it it will look thin again.

Wow I did not know your hair was all natural. I will agree though it is alot of work, and very high maintenance. Good luck on your new journey with relaxed hair. I want to say that yes you did not start at or relax the root of your hair that's why it turned out puffy. Just remember this!!! Each time you get a relaxer only relax the roots or new growth as they say, don't put perm on the hair itself because it's already permed and you could over process your hair thus causing hair damage, thinning, and hair breaking off. The relaxed hair only needs perming two times a year I think but you can confirm this with your Mom.
