This is my method for making vehicles into rollers so I can move them around after I have retrieved them from an extended slumber. Most of the time the brakes are shot anyway and you're going to need all new parts or you'll be converting to disc brakes so this doesn't really ruin any good parts and it's a quick, cheap way to get something mobile. You could even do it in the field to get it loaded if you had a torch and a jack with you.

I usually get these cut off on the trailer as well. I use the winch just to get vehicle on and cut before they come off. I saw the guys from Mr. Goodpliars using some hub puller and I may try that. I was careful with F1’s I recently got off since they are almost $100 each but cheaper ones just get cut off.

Agreed. If they're gold, save them. If they're something that's $40 on RockAuto or something you'll put discs on then make your life easy! Iowa Classic Cars Ryan likes smashing them with a sledge hammer but that just seems like work!

Great, innovative screw-the-brake-drum, anyway type dis-assemble. Ya, those wheels gotta move when being towed, fer sure. If they are too rusty, something inside MUST be removed. Usually it's rusted brake pads and internal parts, levers or springs. Sometimes, one can not spend days, straight at a junk yard, screwing around with rusted drum gaps. Off it goes! (badly)...

Get what you can apart n let all parts soak in huge vinegar bath for a day they will b rust free after.... reassemble with oil..less they r rotted

So that is a terrible tip.I just have to say.A drum puller is what i use impact and and other type has wings you hammer to break loose.You can take hubs and drums off 2 different pullers of amazones .Plus you don't destroy parts.Especially if there hard to find.Even brake pads that are welded with rust come off with these pullers.Just saying .Thanks for vid

@@josephpilosky4775 Correct, the drum was garbage anyhow so instead of putting a bunch of pressure on it and slinging parts across the countryside at high rates of speed I just give them a little gas axe action!
