FTTBALL ... yeah stoking racial divide every chance he got, fast & furious scandal, Benghazi, Iran, Israel UN blunder, countless drone strikes, & extremely harsh regulation that crippled our energy industry. Yeah he did a fabulous job!! (& I voted for the guy twice). Obama may have acted more professional & presented himself better than our current president, but his tenure was filled w/ scandal (that msm almost never reports on that’s why he’s viewed as a God). Truth is while everything he did wasn’t bad, he certainly wasn’t even close to the best president we’ve ever had like many people think. The Dems have lost touch w/ working class America, that started under Obama & it’s why Trump won in 2016 & will probably win again in 2020.

@HawksFan5884
@HawksFan5884 4 жыл бұрын
iAbuse Artemis ... if you have an issue w/ 22 million filling for unemployment that’s more of a state issue. Trump can’t tell states when to lockdown to stop the spread. In fact there’s several states that haven’t. If your states hit harder than most than you probably waited to long to lockdown (& you pry have many high population areas), but that’s on your governor, not Trump. So unless you expected Trump to do something like, back on Feb 1st, completely lockdown ALL our borders & not allow anyone into our country, American or otherwise w/out a quarantine period & a passed covid test afterwards. Than I don’t see how unemployment is trumps fault. This disease was going to get here. That scenario i played out would have slowed it, but probably still not stopped it from getting here & likely spreading everyone. Plus Trump would’ve been blasted for making such a move. So, once the virus did arrive, it was then up to each state to make a responsible decision of when to lockdown their state too slow the spread. Again that’s a decision for your Governor. Constitution clearly lays out states rights in these ways. Trump couldn’t lockdown states economies & order shelter at home then, just like he can’t forcibly start the economy up now & break shelter in place in all states. Plus many of these people who are on unemployment have their jobs back when the economy opens back up. I’d be more worried about Pelosi making bad sentiment on the Dem’s candidate by continuing to block the ppp expansion for small business owners to pay their employees. A lot of those employees are low income workers.

I grew up in a conservative family (nothing inherently wrong with that) and always viewed Obama through the lens of my family’s beliefs, even if deep down I didn’t fully agree with them. It would’ve been amazing to see this presidency and these historic moments through the lens of MY beliefs that I have now as an adult.
@HawksFan5884
@HawksFan5884 5 жыл бұрын
I’m confused. What conservative beliefs did your family have that clashed w/ Obama’s beliefs or your current beliefs?? Obama was actually against gay marriage when he entered office. While he changed his stance on that, I’d argue that most conservatives have changed as well too. Most conservatives don’t care about sexual orientation, or who you marry. Some might not agree w/ it, but they believe in freedom & people having the right to do what they want. Conservatives care more about policies than social issues (accept for the extremely religious conservatives). Besides gay marriage what was your conservative family angry about in Obama’s administration that you agree with as an adult??? Did you like all the drone strikes? The Benghazi lies? the fast & the furious scandal? The raised taxes? Obamacare? You can’t be craving Obama’s southern border policies. There’s a reason his nickname was “deporter in chief”. He deported WAY more South Americans than Trump has & him & the democrats were for a border wall 10yrs ago before Trump was even a blip on the political radar. Besides acting professional & giving good public appearances what did Obama actually do that makes you yearn to have him back in office so you can experience it as an adult???
@MsSandhu9
@MsSandhu9 4 жыл бұрын
I can tell you about President Obama through the lens of a liberal that I was even then. He was/is an intellectual, yet down-to-earth man, devoted to the office of presidency and devoted to his family, who faced vitriolic hate & racism throughout his presidency from a section of American population but STILL remained classy and tried his best to be the president of all Americans, even the ones who disagreed with him or even hated him. Not once he went after the individuals who insulted him, rather chose to rise above all the hate, stayed dignified and focused on his job. That's how most people would want a president to behave, no matter if one agrees or disagrees with his policy!

The answer is pretty simple. Under Obama's watch, despite his brilliant oratory and inspiring speeches, America just fell apart. Racial tensions did not improve, never mind the president's skin colour. The economy was outsourced, leaving many unemployed. Not enough people had opportunity to be re-trained for advancement. And Obama's social agenda and foreign policy were at odds with a majority of Americans - including many who voted for him. Americans were frustrated and angry with the condition of the nation so badly damaged. They decided they needed a powerful force of personality to warp a 180-degree.

My school with predominantly white teachers were SO proud of this moment and the opportunity to tell kids you can literally be whatever you wanna be no matter who you are or what you look like or where you came from. They cancelled the first half of our school day to sit us in front of TV’s to watch the inauguration with tears in their eyes. This just reminds me even tho our country is going through hard times we can and shall persevere. We can do it, we’ve done it before and we can do it again. It just gives me chills. One of the best moments and memories of my childhood and I’m so happy I got to live to see it and hope one day we can continue to see more great examples of diversity with the men and hopefully women who are the face of white house/Country.
