Just leaving behind the memories to your loved ones is the best we can do. Do our best to change ourselves and have others around us remember a positive experience from knowing or loving us.

Since you asked... if we turn to dust when we die then this life is 100% a waste of time. You could have the greatest legacy, all the wealth and power to leave behind for your descendents and it would inevitably be all for nothing. Even if you are remembered as a great man, how does that do you any good when you are worm food? This life on it's own is overwhelmingly worthless through a materialist or agnostic viewpoint. There is zero morality and by continuing to live we are just postponing our inevitable death followed by an eternity of nothingness. My argument is that our ONLY value comes from our creator. You cannot have a design without a designer. Order has never and will never come from chaos. There is an impossible amount of order and design in this world and it is obvious if you slow down and take a minute to observe nature. Since we are created 100% of our value comes directly from our creator. God is unfathomably powerful. He made us and everything around us with painstaking masterful precision, intention and care. You are made with love. God is love. You are more valuable than you could possibly imagine. God gave you an immortal soul that will outlive your physical body. God sent his son Jesus to die and pay the full price for our sins which means that if we fully accept and follow him that we can live in Heaven with him forever instead of away from him in Hell like we deserve.
