GREAT video. I am preparing to start reloading 50ae in the next few months. I have not reloading for a long time. Thank you for this video, PERFECT!

Good video. One thing to consider in on these semi auto rounds, they seat on the case neck. The brass can stretch after firing, so trimming the case to proper case length before belling and priming the case can be an important first step.
@McMan_ Жыл бұрын
I think trimming would be risky as the tolerances will change. I think that's why they have the reloading die(s) he said to crimp them back down to spec.

Beautiful video. Beautiful loads.

Great video. Thanks for posting. 1 question if you don't mind. How do you set the crimp die? I got how you set the bullet depth, but I'm setting up new dies and I don't want to over crimp or under crimp. Any way to get close and then make adjustments?

What red dot are you using? I have an older 2 slot 50ae. I'm not sure if you can put a 1913 spec mount.

Mr NiceKnife I have a cheap BSA red dot but my pistol has a full picatinny rail integrated into the slide. Not sure if that would work on a two slot but I don’t think so.
@MrNiceKnife6 жыл бұрын
FPS Dano according to magnum research it's a weaver rail not 1913 spec...
@fpsdano74466 жыл бұрын
Mr NiceKnife I never noticed a difference I guess. Maybe the BSA red dot is setup for weaver then. Either way that’s what’s on there and it seems to work pretty good.

Do you think there is any way to make a buckshot round for the .50. You know for intruders at night so you don't shoot through all the neighbors houses.
@bojengels18 жыл бұрын
+Dustin Moore Good luck being accurate with that. The rifling would make the shot spin like crazy and make spread a real issue. You'd probably miss more than you would hit. Not only that but the noise and blast from a 50AE indoors would be enough to blind and deafen you.

I’m pretty late getting here but I need some help. Every time I seat the bullet there is no neck tension for the bullet and I can push with my finger down. Any tips ?
@fpsdano74464 ай бұрын
Depending on your die type, more than likely you need to turn your die down further which will put more crimp on the neck.
@emotionlessmarshmallow45814 ай бұрын
@@fpsdano7446 shouldn’t there be neck tension without a crimp though ? I’ve already wasted like 20 rounds trying to figure this out lol I’m using lee dies
@fpsdano74464 ай бұрын
@@emotionlessmarshmallow4581 yes I too have Lee dies and in my experience there’s a fine line that you need to find using very small fractions of a turn in either direction.

Someone else mentioned that your brass length should be measured as well to make sure it’s within tolerance as well. Could be too short in your case

THERE IS SO MUCH MISTAKES THAT WAS OVER LOOKED. Checking casing for defects, cleaning and size to spec. using a caliper. Manual powered dispenser are never 100% accurate. You should measure the powder dispensed at least after every 3-4 fills. Bullet seating is very important and should be or very close to spec. by measuring bullet with a caliper. Just to name a few.

The gravitational pull of the earth fluctuates so much I find scales to be pretty unreliable so usually I count each grain when loading. You just can’t tell cause I do it so quickly.

@@fpsdano7446 You did a fine job. As if these keyboarders have ever even done reloading. Easy to sit behind a computer. If there are so many mistakes, then they could post their own video and teach us how it's done... Instead we get keyboarders...

FPS Dano Not cleaning brass after lubrication/sizing. Could damage your primers and powder. Not checking powder weight every 10 rounds at least. Using the same powder charge for a lighter bullet. Could cause cycling issues-- especially in 50AE Not using calipers to measure O.A.L-- seating bullets too deep will cause unsafe pressures. Checking head space by loading his weapon instead of taking the barrel out-- also letting loaded rounds drop on the floor. Video was cringey, sorry...

@@mathewlambert9464 LOTS of mistakes If only you knew what to look for. Please be very careful in reloading, it can be dangerous if not done properly.
