If anything EarthBound Beginnings is the one that should be getting the remake treatment

If they every did a remake, I would love to see more interactions between the Chosen Four. Enjoying time around the places they have been, some slice-of-life or just general bonding. Especially between Ness and Paula to really make it less awkwardly presented.

The people at Curiomatic did a touching tribute trailer to Mother 3. It almost had a sort of Clay Model style to it which was very interesting. Getting the Mother Trilogy in that specific style would be a dream come true.

reminds me of mother 3 tribute. those guys behind that are now making their own game rollin' racsals. their kickstarter went crazy well.

Another big reason to have remakes of these classic SNES games is to have them with more languages beyond just Japanese and English. I'm in Italy and we started receiving italian translations of Nintendo games only during the GCN era.

I would dub this style of remakes “Chibi style” and honestly, (specifically 1) could benefit from having a paper-mache-clay remake.

imho even if mother 2 isnt an unplayable outdated mess i do think it could be improved upon in some areas, so i wouldnt mind if they made a mother 2 remake with some of the gameplay and visual improvements from 3 that being said, mother 1 definitely needs it a lot more and given that i dont really expect nintendo to remake all at once i wouldnt mind if mother 1 got the remake first

If they make a remake, the art style DEFINITELY needs to be stop-motion. Think "The Nightmare Before Christmas" or "Coraline" . It fits so perfectly

I would love to see earthbound brought back with a claymation look to its animation and models.

if earthbound got a remake, the style it should really be going for is mother 3, which feels like a really odd thing to say, but specifically the pixel art of mother 3 is still considered to be some of the best, and still influential on indie rpgs to this day. i'd be much more interested in them trying to build on mother's existing style than trying to make it fit a 3d style, let alone ones that worked for their games because it was sorta what the original was going for already.

Who knows maybe someday maybe someday.. maybe…. someday……. someday………

I'm kinda on the fence, while I'd love SMRPG/Link's Awakening-esque remakes of the Mother series, at the same time, I'd love remakes that would fully bring the worlds of Mother to 3D, and to be able to fully explore them like that (but keeping the designs and artstyle), specially for 3, since I'd love to see its story finally being as cinematic as they were planned to be in the 64 days Then again, nothing stops the hypothetical accurate remakes from going beyond what was possible in the original games as far qs cutscenes goes, Mario RPG did that after all

If they’re going to do a remake it should definitely be the whole trilogy in one not just earthbound (ie crash bandicoot N sane trilogy). I know they’re not gonna do this….but if they did it would be the best thing ever

Id like for a remaster more then anything being honest. Not entirely changing everything but making it a more polished experience. Like a run button,fixing the lag,and adding a key items menu. Little changes like that to improve the experience, hell maybe even add mother 3 style popups in battle. Basically i want a definitive version of earthbound that’s officially released a remake that does this also works with me but i would prefer the original sprite work.

I honestly would want Earthbound to be remade, but as much as I love the game, I wouldn't die for the remake. Unless the remake looks like the Curiomatic 3D Mother 3 artstyle, then idk about a remake.

It would have to look like either claymation, like the clay figures they used for promotional material (and it's a visual style Nintendo already accomplished in the past if memory serves me right), or like the Peanuts cartoon, the obvious inspiration for its visual style. Of course, while keeping its own visual quirks in either case. More than anything, I wished they expanded on the dialogue and interactivity with the world, because as quirky as EB's writing already is, the world itself kinda starts feeling weirdly stale after a while. I guess that's a problem with a lot of video games in general, but the fact that this game's writing is as quirky as it is makes this problem stand out even more imo.

I feel like Mother 2 is really tied to the original hardware. I can't really imagine the battle backgrounds, the sampled sounds and the soundtrack capturing the originals style and feel. I think if they remade mother 2, they would have to change a lot of stuff, because the game is so unique.

I kinda hope it gets remade in a similar style to Pokémon Heart Gold/Soul Silver. Not Octopath Traveler, they're very different. Either that or a neat claymation like style.

Honestly i don't really care if it gets remade. I mean yeah, if it does get an official one that'll be cool, but we've already got so much to be excited for in the fan community (Mother Encore, Mother Squared, Earthbound Dimensions, etc.) that I don't think it's really necessary at this point

Problem is, I'd be TERRIFIED to see what Giygas would look like...

I've never really understood the, "I love it. Make it again," crowds for any game like this. The remakes always lose more than they gain.

I want a remake so it can fix some of earthbound's issues. Mainly the horrible inventory management. Mayer they cab take some tips from the Mother 2 Deluxe mod

Theres Earthbound Dimensions and Mother Squared that are excellent fan remakes in the works, squared even looks like it may get finished! I dont want Nintendo remaking these games for 60 bucks when fans 100x as passionate are doing it for free.

I think Earthbound looks great the way it is, especially with the unique colour palette. I don't know why some are obbessed with the idea of redoing the sprite work or replacing it with 3D, like that would somehow be an automatic improvement. I mean just look at the masterpiece that is the Runaway Dog sprite.

I hate remakes. Please don’t, if they alter the themes, stories and or censor it, it’ll basically alter how people see the media in question. Sure there will be the og people who say “it wasn’t like that it was like this” but most people will experience the shiny remake, and pretty much alter the discourse
