Another tip I have: This is generally more useful in areas with lots of small nations that get a good amount of small allies. You can win wars you numerically shouldn't by preventing their armies from uniting into one doomstack. you'll want to have more troops than each of their stacks individually (building a few troops over fl is fine) and defeating them. You want to morale wipe them asap and then drop a regiment each on their provinces. Start sieging them down 1 by 1 and boom, you just won a war. On the topic of sieges, you only want to have the number of troops you need to siege the fort + 1 on it, and leave the rest of your stack in a province neighboring it. Saves you manpower, especially in regions with high attrition

My headcanon is Reman was trapped in a time void. When the protests happened someone caused enough chaos enough that a rat pressed a button that released him from the void.

Honestly, it just comes with practice. Draw your opponent into a situation where they cant be easily reinforced, then pounce with a larger stack. Then chase down smaller stacks before retreating and do it all again.

some other things 1. the changes to mercs means that getting the AI to tap out earlier is easier 2. I find it's easier to fight someone like muscovy or france (now) after they incorporate their vassal swarms as it's the difference between fighting 5 ai vs 1 3. also the AI is terrible at navies so use this to your advantage if starting somewhere only ships can reach 4. you can order your vassals to focus on a strategy instead of doing random things which usually leads to losing warscore due to fights

I’ve seen this video like 3 times now but I still need to keep coming back to it. I’m playing Byzantium and it’s now 1550. I fought Austria and Spain and had a really rough time with both of them. Going back to what he was saying about major powers should only be fought in the first 20 years or after 1610. My army was simply not on the same level as I them since Byzantium doesn’t get any military ideas until 2nd to last with 5% discipline. I had a big one sure due to quantity ideas that matched theirs but equal number but better means not equal, and I kept losing battles. I would get some small gains but definitely not worth what I paid in manpower

As Florence I was declared on by the Papacy, Spain, and Venice, but I invested in Defensive ideas, and many of forts all next to each other. My enemies faced about 100k in attrition in the 1500s, I eventually won the war because they exhausted all their resources.
