I love how nostalgia suddenly makes everyone a sociologists who know how society was back then porcentually compared to today, so pathetic... People said the same in the 90's, you're just following the stupid cycle of nostalgia, nothing else.

Late 90s to early 2000s. For some reason those years felt more alive and positive. For me at least. Maybe because I was young and all I cared about are school, friends, playing video games, going to the movies every now and then, buying magazines to read about upcoming games, watching Music videos and basically just having fun. From 2010 to now, every year feels the same to me. Life is like an NBA 2K game now, they just change the number every year but nothing is new and there is nothing exciting to look forward to.

I’m so grateful to have been born in the 80s and to have transitioned from a young child to a teenager during the 90s. The memories from the 90s are the best memories I have, it’s amazing to see how many of us feel the same, it was the last pure decade. It’s a shame it couldn’t have lasted longer and it’s hard to believe this was 24 years ago, where has the time gone? Nearly 40 now and I still feel like that same kid inside sometimes.
@MRF1983
@MRF1983 Жыл бұрын
Same. Sometimes I feel like my inner kid is right there with me like that Disney movie The Kid with Bruce Willis and he's yelling at me because our life isn't going at all like we thought it would've. Had a young family member die last year, the Green Ranger died and the voice of Batman died. Life feels so heavy now, but this reminds me of when life was light and carefree.

I turned 17 in 1999 and I‘m so grateful that I experienced the late 1990s and very early 2000s with a decent age. It was a magical time. And it has nothing to do with being so young, even my parents and elders felt the same way. Music was awesome, girls looked so hot (compared with their nerdy style today), people were more natural and positive. Living now in a completely material world where almost no one has friends and trying to be an artificial influencer is probably the worst version of the future ever. Even teens hanging around with depressions.

@micko x it's much different. Maybe not as romanticized as this statement above but it was definitely different. More narcissistic people today. More grandiosity, more histrionics. That you can't deny. The data is there. I do agree , ignorance is bliss. That's a two way street.

@micko x There were these things, but they were not so widespread. Even statistics support this. People have no idea how to be truly social any more. Instagram influencers are the epitome of narcissism, and people die trying to get selfies these days. The Left and Right were not so divided as they are today. If you think it wasn't better in many ways back then, you have no idea, and you probably weren't around then.

It's a longing to relive the best times of our lives but knowing we can't. All we can do is peer through the window to the past. Like, imagine if you could only play an amazing game once or watch a great movie one time. Then years later be like "I really want to watch that movie again" but you can't......Nostalgia is such a bitch. But I love it.

No twitter, no social policing, no wars, no lecturing, no drama for the sake of it. I was 8 in this year. Enjoying power rangers lost galaxy, wasn't being bullied in school and finally having friends to hang out with, tom was introduced in toonami. Pokemon and DBZ were still souring in ratings. N64 and ps1 were killing it. smash bros was a fun party game to bring during summer camp, Will Smith movies were a blast. Batman Beyond is introduced and kicked so much ass. Disney's Tarzan, man what a blast of the last year in the 90s.

99 was one of the best years of my life. Great music, great friends and I met an amazing girl who was spitting image of Hannah from S Club 7. Sadly we didn't stay, it lasted 3 years. But, hey, agar a year. My first time going to the States fir the Disney millennium celebrations.

Here’s how I see it. 1995 - 2001 was the great Jedi era of a 90’s kids time. I remember those years very well. Everyone seemed care free and loving. We didn’t have cell phones that were computers. We had actually conversations with each other and not with a technological device. Of course we all had our problems, but we knew how to deal with them. Those care free days officially came to an end on September 11, 2001 at 8:46am, in NYC, when the first plane hit the North Tower. The moment that happened, the time we once knew just vanished. All we have now are the memories of what once was... THE LESSON - Don’t take your childhood for granted. One day you’re 11 years old, the next it’s ten years later and you’re 21. It goes by real fast kids. Don’t be in such a hurry to grow up. You have the rest of your life to be an adult. Speaking as a 90’s kid, I know. Cherish your time kids, because once it goes by, that’s it. It’s gone.
