The fact that she broke with a 600 year old tradition to pay respect to the United States was truly moving, generous, and will never be forgotten. It is one of the many, MANY reasons why the relationship between the United States and the United Kingdom is stronger than a weld. Truly unbreakable. Rest In Peace, Queen Elizabeth Regina II. God Save The King! 🇬🇧🇺🇸

Imagine being an American overseas, likely unable to return home and unsure when you would, and hearing your national anthem played live by an ally. I wouldn't be able to hold back tears. That's a genuinely kind gesture.

There was a lot of people over in London when the terrorist attacks happened completely unable to return home and they were forced to watch it all unfold on TV with the British people , all of the people in Britain were extremely heartbroken over what happened to our nation they think of us as family.

Our local jails in Phoenix, Arizona stood at a stand still as we watched the video of the band playing our national anthem, I stood among my fellow officers at attention a and rendering a military salute to that band!! No question Great Britain and the United States were standing together!! I do not have the words to convey my love for this

I remember seeing the video of this the week of 911. But it was really poor quality video for some reason so that might be why it wasn't widely disseminated. It looks like they've been able to clean it up quite a bit with current technology.

I’m half British, half American. First generation American on my dad’s side. I was brought up to love both countries, but my heart is British. That being said, I will always love the late Queen Elizabeth. My middle name is after her. So I feel I have a bit of her always with me in my heart. She will be deeply missed for a long time to come. Still coming to terms with the loss ❤

Seeing those shots of Americans crying while having their hands over their hearts was incredibly emotional. I was born after 9/11 in a country outside of America, but as non-American as I am, I truly am proud to now be living here as an American. I may never truly grasp the pain these people went through, but it reminds me of what it is to be American, here in 2024. God bless our country.

She was a class act and one I'm sure we unfortunately won't get to see again for a very long time. The very fact that she not only broke with tradition to play another countries anthem but the mere fact that said anthem was written about a US victory over one of her predecessors monarchies makes her even better. She knew exactly what she was doing and god bless her for it. She did more in that one act to further the UK-US "special relationship" than any UK PM or US President could ever do. Godspeed Elizabeth.

Not Obama’s speech. From The Guardian and repeated in other press. ‘ When President Obama touched down in the UK for the G20 summit this week, there was a lot on his mind. The fate of the American car industry, that pesky stimulus package, impending financial and ecological doom. But most importantly: How much is the Queen gonna love the new iPod I got her? For this wasn't just any old MP3 player. The Queen's official gift from the 44th president and his wife, Michelle, features footage of her 2007 visit to the US, as well as numerous Broadway songs, and comes with a songbook for the King and I signed by composer Richard Rodgers. No word yet as to whether the playlist contained Pass the Duchy or anything by, well, Queen. Her Majesty, however, is said to be "delighted" following their meeting yesterday.’
